That's inherent to all forms of learning. Heck we could even say that even us, don't "understand" language but only how to use it to get what we want. Rational reasoning is hard because it's not the natural behavior of any brain. We have to force ourselves to learn rules, force ourselves to respect them, to be able to think rationaly, and even then, peer reviewing is mandatory because we can't escape our biases, which are our brains desire to ignore rational rules to take more efficient shortcuts.
