People are not dumber these days, it's the elite getting better manipulating the people, amirite?

Dude, grammar.

Grammar, spelling, basic coherence... It is all missing.

Actually, its refreshing to see something that clearly isn't written by AI. It can be hard to tell
by Anonymous12 hours ago
I never said that man you're jumping to wild conclusions. AI is prolific and it takes certain skills I lack to identify it 100% of the time. I never throw AI accusations because I know how hurtful that is.
by Anonymous12 hours ago
Some people on here assume anything well-written is automatically AI. That's what the person is criticizing.

You're putting a whole essay in my mouth man

Oh my, I feel incredibly sorry for those people

Way less dumber

Peoples brains didnt change really. We just have easy access to all of human knowledge and technologies that allow people to earn enough money to be able to pursue education. I would say elites are having a harder time manipulating people slowly. A large number of people are still illogical and emotional, so that's easy to sway. They manipulated way harder in the past because people just straight up had no idea what was happening. Now there's a small amount of accountability creep. Money is still power though.

No, people are 100% getting dumber. 30 years ago, do you think anyone would have believed "They're putting litterboxes into public schools for students who identify as cats"? Or "The former first lady is running a child sex dungeon in the basement of a pizza shop"? Media literacy has plummeted. That's why it's easier to be manipulated.

Media literacy has not plummeted. It never existed in the first place. Boomers grew up with Fairness Doctrine and never adapted to its absence. In fact, I would guess media literacy is skyrocketing (albeit from a very low point), and thus propaganda is getting more sophisticated.

I do. If you are unfamiliar, you should look into the Satanic Panic. People believed huge satanic cults of healthcare workers, daycares, and teachers were kidnapping, abusing, and sacrificing children. Dungeons and Dragons was devil worship and led to teen suicide. Rock music was brainwashing your children with hidden messages.

They're putting litterboxes into public schools for students who identify as cats"? I take every chance I can to piggyback off this and let people know this context, because this is in my opinion possibly the single most repulsive lie on the right. Do you know why there is kitty litter in some classrooms? It's there so kids can go to the bathroom if there's a school shooter. Imagine talking something that's true because of epidemic of American tragedy and turning it into a culture War lie. Deplorable.

You're 50% correct. The scams and manipulation are much worse, even comparing to just 5 years ago. But people are also dumber. I can't believe the amount of nonsense I read on social media that is literally a google search away. People genuinely don't care to be wrong anymore. They'll respond with "well its my opinion" with literal evidence disproving their claims. I'm also pretty sure the average IQ number is falling as well.

"Elite" Nothing about them is elite.

We have easier and more acces to better and more information(internet). But in general we are most definitely getting more 'dumb' we try less and less to retain any information due to having easy acces to it. Why try to remember something if you can google it again later on. Why actually learn and master something with infinite acces to free guides. We are getting dumber but it doesn't really show and will only really show if somehow internet disappears for a long period of time. It's showing slowly in the social norm but won't show in the professional norm due to having acces to our source of information whenever we want.
