I think they just fit the time they were in better. Too many of the jokes have been copied over and over that the scenes seem old hat now. I do like Blues Brothers though.

That's fair and that's why I prefaced by saying they were a little before my time and I'm not trying to take away that a lot of what those movies did was ground breaking at the time. But they don't hold up to me and look especially weak next to other great comedy movies of that time that don't get talked about as much as the 3 I mentioned.

"I don't find x funny" is an opinion. "X isn't funny, it sucks" is technically an opinion, but if you don't realize you're inviting pushback by phrasing or that way, then you should work on your social interactions
