Let's ask everyone currently under a dictatorship. Oh wait...you can't.

Singapore is literally one of the richest countries in the world and has been under a dictatorship for the last 60 years. What are you talking about?

nope. source: thousands of years worth of human history.

You do know rapid development happened earlier and faster in democracies right? Also there's a lot of dictatorships, and you seem to be cherry picking the few relatively economically successful ones and ignoring the 100+ that got stuck as middle income or poor nations.

I would rather live in the United States than any of those countries. Especially the CCP. The Cultural Revolution was one of the worst things to ever happen in human history. That's the kind of thing you get when you have a dictator. Dictatorships are not efficient, they are defined by cronyism and unaccountability. Just look at Russia. 150,000 young men dead in Ukraine just to feed their leader's ego. I can't fathom that some people would choose that kind of system when there are better ones available.

"I work for the state" - Communist "I work for a profit" - Capitalist "No no no, you guys work for me" - Dictator

Ok, fast decision making..... now how about everything else? Quality of life? Individual liberties? Freedom of expression? Freedom of association?

This has nothing to do with a dictatorship, wtf are you talking about? A dictator can allow all of this to happen if they want to.

This has happened in Singapore and it has worked wonders.

Shut up.

You could always move to North Korea if you think that.

This is actually the best argument for dictatorship and it even seems appealing in times of instability living under a democracy. Of course, the issue is that with no mechanism to limit that power even a tiny bit, your only hope is that the dictator ends up being all-good, all-wise and all-caring, which, yea.... not a good track record so far in history.

On paper, a dictator sounds good, but in reality they're really bad.
