+37 Listening to Audiobooks does not constitute reading, amirite?

I don't see how it matters though, as you are still consuming the information

I imagine it engages your brain differently, but I don't think that has much to do with whether or not it's reading.

So no exceptions? Not even for blind people who would like to enjoy the same stories?

This is certainly an unpopular opinion. My vision has gotten worse over time. Can you explain the benefits of me reading off of a page vs hearing the same thing from someone else reading it? I've already proven I can read and write with a masters degree. I believe my comprehension skills go way up as well whereas I could be reading it incorrectly myself without understanding the pauses and tone for each segment.

while I do agree that listening to an audio book is not the same as reading a book, I will also say sometimes I also not listen to myself reading a book. Sometimes I skip pages or instantly forget what I just read for some books or parts that I didn't like. Not sure what your whole point of this discourse is tho. You think that people that read a book absorb and remember 100% of it meanwhile people who listen to audio books don't? Cos that's just wrong lol
