Not a fan of them myself, but by which "exponential effect" is a weighted blanket supposed to be throwing your things on the floor?
by Njacobs9 hours ago
I've been jerking off with one of those on my lap and I am getting shredded. 10/10 would recommend.

I'm pretty sure this is happening because weighted blankets are not designed to be used to sleep with on your bed nightly. They are a therapy resource that has been brought to the mainstream that people just are not exactly sure of their purpose apparently.

I mean sort of? Heavy blankets have been used throughout history for their comfort and ability to induce a relaxed state. Things that you know can be helpful for sleeping. This characteristic was then used as a therapy and that simply helped the concept become reframed and more mainstream.

Not sure an opinion on weighted blankets qualifies to be popular or unpopular, as the vast majority of humanity is going to be indifferent towards them
by Njacobs8 hours ago
To be fair unpopular doesn't mean holding the opposing few is popular it just means that not many people hold your view. So the majority simply not having an opinion still makes the opinion unpopular

100% agree

I got one last winter, and it makes sleeping on cold winter nights 200% more cozy. No problems with it randomly moving around, not sure what you meant by that. It's certainly not made for the summer or a warm climate though, it gets far too hot.

Yeah I never understood them myself, my joints and tendons are weak anyways with RA and lupus and when I flare I can't even move my pillow. I wouldn't like to try and sort out a weighted blanket. Tbh any weight on my joints makes them 100x worse anyways. They must help with some health conditions I guess

I've never had an actual weighted blanket because of logistics reasons but I've done DIY versions and they're really good if you've got sensory seeking tendencies.
