This! They should be in the burrito.

I've eaten a lot of California burritos, never had soggy fries.

The crux is to use battered fries. The problem is deltaco, the place in Cali most known for having burritos and fries, used crinkle that basically degenerate in the burrito. Be willing to bet this is where op's option comes from.

Nope, tried several from independent shops. It's just a dumb concept that got hyped because San Diegans want something "unique" to brag about.

They supposedly originated in San Diego and are a point of pride there, pathetic as that may be.

No one is arguing where it was invented just by who. It's just a popular local burrito that has grown in popularity. It's not like the tourist board is pushing the food on you. Plenty of cities have food that was invented in their cities.

Okay?

Even with fresh fries, they're trash. It just combines two good things to make something worse. Definitely a case of a thing that's been hyped because it's unique to San Diego. But, just because something is unique doesn't mean it's good.

Not unique to SD, its all over Cali. Not my taste but I wouldn't call it trash, breakfast burritos can also include homestyle potatoes, really depends.

Not unique to Cali, either, because I've been ordering them all over Kentucky for 20 years lol

Not even unique to California

Breakfast burrito is just a burrito in name though, and I wouldn't call it Mexican food. Cali burrito takes a perfectly good burrito and makes it dryer, starchier and blander 🤮

Why is a breakfast burrito not mexican food? Its a burrito, its not that deep. Most of our burritos in mexico are leftovers for the next day or just to make something easy to eat, theres no strict guidelines.

It's a wrap

Mexico didn't even create burritos

What can I say other than I hardcore disagree. They're just yummy.

You have bad taste

Good fries do not get soggy easily. That's why they're also a popular (and great) inclusion in shawarma
