I think it depends from person to person. Being dumped sucked for me

I think that's the most realistic answer without letting your bias change your mind.

Been 8 months since mine ended and I still wake up with a heavy heart despite doing my best to move on. A love like that can really mess you up

I think you are imagining yourself being dumped from your ex, that you wanted to dump in the first place. I've never been dumped by someone i believed to have a future with, that i really really loved, so i see where you're coming from, but i imagine the feeling would be just devastaing.

The feeling is indeed devastating. To be dumped by someone that you believed in.

It saves them the pain of knowing for certain they were dumped

Bruh it adds way more baggage tho, they'll never know why they were dumped and they cant work on that.

Yeah but I don't have to deal with it

I was cheated on by my now ex wife so I was dumped in the worst way possible, it hurt like hell and changed me fundamentally as a person, still I would always prefer to be dumped than do the dumping.

Emphasis on crazy. OP is likely a people pleaser, codependent personality type.
