An over steeped iced tea is amazing

That is economical as heck to get upwards of seven cups (if I'm reading this right) out of a single tea bag. I applaud that level of frugality, but you should seriously consider getting into loose leaf tea steeping to take it to the next level.

Haha thanks but it's not really for frugality I just enjoy it that way

Ooh good to know. I actually did just get some fancier samples of teas from Asia so I'll definitely try brewing them the right way!

Look, I'm American, 99% of the time I'm drinking tea it's a pitcher of Lipton from the fridge. But I do make hot tea occasionally, and you clearly haven't made many different kinds of hot tea because it Really depends on the tea. If you're getting almost anything that's pre bagged or at a big brand grocery store, and not a import market or at least loose leaf, the way you make it will hardly make a difference. and if anything, is probably watered down unless you over steep it. They're made for people who aren't going to not pick their tea. 90% of the tea you can buy in the US is extremely weak tea that most other cultures would consider teea flavored water. But if you go get some fresh genuine loose leaf stuff from a UK or Asian import market and steep it at boiling temp for 10 minutes it's gonna taste like poisonous ass water unless your taste buds are dead. in fact it can also induce vomiting or diarrhea if it's strong enough, many teas are mildly toxic if you make them too strong.

If I'm going to drink hot tea I prefer it "over" done, but it's mostly because I wish I was drinking coffee and I'm trying to get as much punch out of it as I can

As a teenager I used to take a thermos and fill it with hot water and lemon juice, then leave a tea bag in it for hours. The absolute dankest garbage but I guess I was just addicted to caffeine.

you are doing it with artistic intent, i can respect this even if it physically pains me, also the fact that you are saying grass water implys that you primarily consume herbal tea, whitch i know less about, so pop off quing

the reusing of one unit of tea is entierly fine, its the temp and time that pain me

I do the same when I'm making a gallon of green tea on the stove. I bring it to a light boil and let it sit under low heat for three hours. I also use five gallon size tea bags for one gallon. I like it strong and bitter.
