+54 The default position of the toilet seat could indicate whether it's the wife or the husband that holds power inside the house. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The only default position of a toilet seat should be *completely closed*.

When you flush the swirling water can aerosolize feces. So in our house the lid stays down unless we are using the toilet.

Lack of respect does not equal power. Wanting the bathroom to look presentable isn't a weakness. No correlation.

What does my house say since we always keep the lid down, too?

by SaladLow 1 day ago

that you're a bunch of animals that don't wanna smell your own butt-stuff (jk I respect you)

by ReplacementFirst1210 1 day ago

hahahah i pinky promise :) our butts are safe here

by ReplacementFirst1210 1 day ago

That's how you are supposed to do it. People who keep the lid up in whatever configuration are savages.

It's not a guarantee, but it's one indicator of a healthy relationship with mutual respect and such. I hope that this is how your relationship actually is!

This would go crazy at the retirement home stand up night

In my house it's the cat, since its lid is down as well so she doesn't drink from the toilet

I always put it down out of respect, but if you want to say she has the power, that's fine too.

If there was one thing I took away from Myth Buster, it was closing the lid.

by Bridgette20 1 day ago

I think about this all the time!

If the default position isn't lid down, the couple should get counseling

Or.. or.. people want less poo particles floating around and landing on their toothbrushes. Or.. or.. some people respect themselves and others. Or… or.. some houses have spouses with equal "power."

I'm a sprayer. So I sit down and everything is nice and clean.

The lid should always be down. When I was living in an apartment by myself the lid was down. Does that indicate that my non-existent wife held power inside my one-person home?

Our toilet seat is currently in the shed being repaired. So what does that mean?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Cuck household, clearly. The repairman is wearing the pants while you watch from the corner of the room.

by Apprehensive-Ice 1 day ago

I'm the repairman

Probably has more to do with how they are raised/family. For example, a dad who has a wife and 3 daughters is probably going to develop a habit of putting the seat down. Same goes for a guy raised by a single Mom/sisters.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

True. It could indicate that there lives a man who doesn't like to see the thing open all the time, but who's tired to fight about it with his wife who's lazy and leaves it up all the time.
