+59 The fact that there is a serious debate that either Jordan or LeBron is the Goat, means neither can be the Goat. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

They just do that so they don't have to mention Larry bird, that beautiful dirty bastard

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Have you ever met a sports fan? There's almost always a debate as to who the best is, it's quite notable for people to agree. The fact that you needed to go swimming and sprinting to get enough examples says a lot.

by Melyna28 1 day ago

Who says every sport has to have a Goat? Swimming and running are legit examples not sure of your point. There's not that many professional sports and I named people from over half of them

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Even with your examples, I've heard people debate that Woods isn't the best of all time for golf. And no, you did not list over half of professional sports, not even close.

by Melyna28 1 day ago

Over half of what? Insane statement.

by Neat-Spend9028 1 day ago

But Woods is not the GOAT.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

There's debate over if the Earth is flat, but it's not flat. Also, LeBron is the GOAT.

by Proof_Coconut 1 day ago

He's a good #2

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Michael Jordan is, yeah.

by Proof_Coconut 1 day ago

I completely reject the premise of your question. There is not a serious debate. There never has been. It's not even close. Michael Jordan is far and away the Goat. LeBron has a case for number two, but I still think Kobe was better because Championships are so important.

by Competitive_Most_187 1 day ago

Well I think LeBron is far and away the Goat so you are proving OP's point. Also, putting Kobe above is utterly ludicrous and delegitimizes your list. If championships are so important than Russell should be #1.

by windlerhalie 1 day ago

You are allowed to be wrong.

Jack Nicklaus

Not even close

18 majors V. 15 majors

by Anonymous 1 day ago

If tiger did not have his personal life problems derail his whole career he would have more. Wood's odds for winning the majors outright was -110 which is unheard of.

I named two swimmers in different genders? If the men and woman competed together I would have only named Phelps, I should have put biles also

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I forgot about those two tbh but I would have said them. Woman's and men's sports are considered different sports. No one is arguing whether Phelps or Ledecky is better

by Anonymous 1 day ago

'The best Jordan LeBron goat debate". It's a YouTube video. Watch it. Come back and tell me you still have this incorrect opinion. The man uses statistics and useable verifiable metrics to demolish that this has EVER BEEN A DEBATE. after watching you will come to realize it HAS NEVER BEEN CLOSE

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That's not how logic works But if you think declaring something makes it true

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Jordan is the undisputed GOAT. You can't be the GOAT if you get intimidated by JJ Barea in an NBA Finals.

by Competitive-Boss-618 1 day ago

LeBron does have the most points in an NBA career

by Total-Session 1 day ago

Admittedly he played more years and did not walk away from the sport in his prime.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Pete Weber. Undeniable bowling GOAT.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What universe are you living in, where humans have absolute knowledge of the capabilities of other humans? No, the existence of a serious debate does not mean neither are the GOAT, it means they are close enough in overall capability that it isn't obvious which one is better

by Born-Stress 1 day ago

That's exactly my point. The fact they are so close means that neither can be declared the goat. You prove my point

by Anonymous 1 day ago

As long as they aren't completely equal, one is better. And, just to be clear, the one that is better (even if it's by a small enough margin that it isn't an obvious different) would be the GOAT You can claim that I'm proving your point all you want, it doesn't change the fact that I'm disproving your point. It just makes you look stupid

by Born-Stress 1 day ago

Are you guys seriously forgetting about Larry Bird?

by One_Half_7773 1 day ago

It was indisputable, before LeBron came around, that M.J. was considered the GOAT. The "Babe Ruth" of basketball. One thing that gets lost in the debate is whether or not a player expanded interest in the game. M.J. did that. Take a look at the Ratings of the NBA finals in 1998 when MJ won his last championship. Game 7 had 35 million viewers, and all seven games combined had 210 million viewers. To put that into perspective, the Superbowl that following January had 90 million viewers. Fast forward to 2020 (LeBron's last championship) 8 million viewers for game 7, and 50 million viewers for the entire series and that next superbowl had 100 million viewers. When you consider that being the goat, is also about expanding interest in the game, there is no debate. Lebron James did the opposite. In fact, less people are interested in the NBA now by a factor of 2.

Jordan is the GOAT.
