Three is nothing worse than a mushy bland blueberry. A firm, tart one though? Damn.

A preference is perhaps the lowest form of opinion. You don't like blueberries? How fascinating.

Bush blueberries in season from Maine/Michigan/Canada are amazing. Ground/ "wild" blueberries are meh and good only for baking. California and South American are super meh and good for nothing.

Yeah picking wild blueberries and huckleberries in Acadia is amazing

I can do one better.... I was visiting Saint Theresa Point, MB (fly in, northern community), and the local ladies took me blueberry picking... We brought a man with a gun, and he stood there on the lookout for bears the entire time, since we were all heads down picking... Bears know where the sweetest berries grow, too.

Just muffins. I don't like fruit in my baked goods in general, blueberries are the exception hence why for me they're peak

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Agreed. Adjacent or on is acceptable but in is weird. Unless it's been processed into a jam.

by Complex-Boss9770 1 day ago

they're either bitter with good texture or good tasting with bad texture. no in between

Well that leaves more blueberries for me! 😋

All I can say don't eat blue or blackberries for a week before a colonoscopy.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that about blueberries

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Honestly, the flavor is so disgusting and unpalatable, I don't know how people eat them.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I don't really like to risk it on a plain blueberry, but blueberry baked goods are soooo superior to any other fruit

Northern grown, Michigan or Maine, are much more flavorful than those grown in the south. Higher temperatures and greater light intensity lead to higher sugar production and lower acids giving the souther berries a sweeter, but much less complex flavor. Your chance of buying a better tasting northern grown berry is much less likely considering that most mass market available berries come from southern states, like Arkansas or North Carolina, and similar non US producers, such as Mexico or Chile

What did those poor blueberries ever do to you? 😢

by Troyleffler 1 day ago

I'm was with you until them being meh in baking, they are the best berry on earth in baking. I could go my entire life without eating another fresh one though

by Littelotho 1 day ago

While I agree with you, my pet bunny would definitely not

Dried blueberries are tasty. Problem solved.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

You have to grow your own

Less ripe ones are better, when they are firm and acidic. Ripe ones are too bland and soft
