+76 I'm not vegan but I like plant based meat over real meat, amirite?

Well made vegan food can be amazing. I eat and cook vegan/veg food a lot and people don't understand why when I also eat meat. Sometimes you just crave the tofu.

It's crazy to me how some people think you have to pick one. I eat veg / vegan maybe 70% of the time, just because I like veggie based foods or don't necessarily want or need meat at every meal, and I love a good steak. I don't know why the default seems to be to meat at every meal. I don't find it necessary.

I eat fake meat a lot, but real meat is sadly always more tasty lol.

We did a taste test of a bunch of fake breakfast sausage vs real sausage. Made a gravy out of each. All the fake ones were good. Then we got to the real deal. It was game over.

Preferring the taste and texture of fake meat is like preferring a fleshlight over a real woman.

I love impossible meat burgers. I always choose it over a cow burger. But then I was vegan/ vegetarian for 7 years. Burger King do the whopper so realistically, and their vegan nuggets taste almost identical to McDonald's chicken nuggets

Impossible spicy breakfast sausage patties in the air fryer are first rate

This is a preference, not an opinion

Not a fan of faux meat. For one it's not healthy ( no seriously look at the ingredients) Second you can make your own that's more healthy and that tastes better than meat itself I mean why limit yourself. There's tons of plant based dishes that don't call for that Frankenstein food.

I'm not eating a burger because it's healthy lol

Preference as opinion. Nice.

Soy chorizo is better than pork chorizo because pork chorizo is to greasy. You can get soy chorizo crisper

Trader Joe's beefless ground is better than ground beef imo.

I do too. No gristle.

It's also got a half a cup of salt in it which doesn't hurt the taste.

I'm not vegan but I like some vegan things and if you told me that for one reason or another one compromise I had to have, had to make was to give up meat I would say okay. It would not be ridiculously tough. But I like chicken, I love fish and every now and then a big juicy piece of red meat muscle. It's good to be diverse and not stuck in a groove of only same old same old. Some people are way too rigid

I used to get a beyond burger from work and add bacon. It was higher quality than the frozen pre-cooked patties.

I love meat. Beef, pork, chicken, whatever. It's great. But sometimes I forget to take something out of the freezer or just straight up don't feel like putting a lot of effort into cooking. There's nothing wrong with tofu or chickpeas or something else plant-based being the basis of protein for a meal.

It can taste good but it's just made off goop

100% agree. I often prefer the plant-based texture over real meat, and I like that it can't go bad or get gross in certain spots like real meat can.

It's a statement of fact. The fact stated is that you like plant-based meat. Go back to school.
