+42 None of the hyped fast food burger places come close to Culver's, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This should not be an unpopular opinion. There are other good regional burger chains, but nothing approaches Culver's in terms of value

by Bogisichdelilah 1 day ago

Their shrimp meal could literally cost more to make depending on where I buy shrimp

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What value?? I just bought my wife a single cheeseburger with ketchup on it and cheese, a small cheese curd and a drink as a combo and it was $13.00. I've grown up around Culver's my entire life. It's good but calling it a value is a stretch

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Get her a scoopy meal

by Kingtrever 1 day ago

That's a kids meal. Great suggestion bro

by Jolly_Crow 1 day ago

But also McDonald's meals are that same price and way lower quality so even at $13 culvers is a better value than most fast food places these days. But yea if you grew up around culvers you should already know the kids meal hack.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culvers is just ok

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culver's is also my favorite out of all the burger places I've tried, and I agree it's under hyped compared to the places people are always raving about

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Depending where you live this is not unpopular at all. Culver's is great.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

In n out is the most overrated burger place I've ever been.

by gkessler 1 day ago

Funny we ate there a few times out west on a trip. Very popular! Once, they were way too crowded in a town in Utah, and then we noticed there was a CULVERS as a better option anyway! Must confess I loved In and Out the other times for the price, especially in California where everything seemed so high! The In and Out milk shake wasn't good: was too sweet! But I was pleased with the burger, fries and service! Not like it's THE BEST on the planet, but decent quality/value. And for those of us who live east, nice departure from McD's etc. for those of who are also South: we are getting more Culvers!!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yes I agree , I did like in n out when I had it in Colorado. Much better than McDonald's, Wendy's, etc but still below a few fast food places that do the smash burger style. TBH I just think smash burgers are more consistently good than the regular style.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

In & out is quick, cheap, and fantastic service that has OK food. And reality is when I'm eating fast food it's because I need quick and cheap. There's not a fast food burger that I'd ever go out of my way for

by That-Birthday 1 day ago

Culver's buffalo chicken tenders are really good.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culver's is absolutely the best fast food burger place. I'm so glad Florida has a bunch because I love it so much

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Cookout is the lesser known GOAT that rarely gets talked about, but IYKYK.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Freddys is pretty good too. I think I remember it being similar to Culver's

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I've never had Culver's because it's never been near anywhere I've lived, but Freddy's is probably my favorite fast food burger.

by FantasticGene 1 day ago

Had Freddy's for the first time and I was blown away. We do not have anything remotely that good in Canada for burger chains

by After_Passenger_8114 1 day ago

Cost aside, why is it the best? I've heard it's the standard up north. But Culver's where I live is mid

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's a delicious smash burger using fresh/ never frozen beef. What fast food burgers are better by you? I'm in the Midwest so have been going to Culver's since it was just a Wisconsin thing. Had a cousin that was trying to go to all of them when that was still a somewhat easy feat in Wisconsin.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Oh dude the burgers are great, its those mid ass ore ida crinkle fries that knee caps Culvers so badly.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I agree on the fries. I just went to Culver's before a wedding last night and swapped out the fries for curds (also not great compared to legit curds but still tasty) and got fries at McDonalds. I'm just speaking on the burgers.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Five Guys and In and Out are comparable burgers imo. I like the fries at Culver's better though. People acting like Culver's is mid is wild to me. I'm in Colorado too, so not in midwest

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Five Guys and In and Out burgers are not comparable in any sense of the word.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

You lost me at smash burger. The obsession with them is one that is lost on me and it has become an immediate eye roll when I see it.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culver's has been doing smash burgers for far longer than any trend

by Delaneymertz 1 day ago

They're not smash burgers.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

"Fresh never frozen" is the same slogan is Wendy's… it doesn't remotely mean quality.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The fact that you care so much about Culver's in the Midwest is how I know I never want to go there. Such low class

by Far-Public 1 day ago

It's overrated yeah, but it is good.

by sunny08 1 day ago

Most food is good while high

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Definitely not the "standard up north" lol. They don't go to the northeast at all ( they're in the south in Texas and Florida) and last I checked they were only in 25 states.

by dietrichflavie 1 day ago

25 states is half the country… mostly northern states of the country, not southern, if you were to split it in half?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I suppose. But to say they're the "standard up north" when the majority of northern states don't even get them would be untrue. We just started getting them in Ohio like 5 years ago. A lot of people don't even know what Culvers is still. Let alone a "standard." They're too small of a chain to be "standard "

by dietrichflavie 1 day ago

Ah I see, up north, but maybe only a few states. It's been a while, not all their burgers are smash burgers right? I don't think I've had a smash burger there. If I didn't, it wasn't memorable. Those are my favorite type and it's hard to find a good one

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah they're smash burgs. Just saying most people have not had Culver's. It's not a "standard" lol. Only in Wisconsin.

by dietrichflavie 1 day ago

I understand my confusion in this

by Anonymous 1 day ago

They've been in my Ohio town for well over a decade. Shakes/malts are good, rarely eat there though.

by Felipe49 1 day ago

The first Culver's location opened in Ohio in July 2018. I remember lol. Has not been a decade.

by dietrichflavie 1 day ago

i dont get it. maybe its my culvers, but the food is so salted that its inedible. id rather go to mcdonalds.

by lmurazik 1 day ago

Culver's is also my favorite

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I spend part of my summers in the Midwest and end up eating a Culver's on occasion. I cannot understand the hype. The burgers are incredibly mid, like every other fast food place. $5 chili cheese fries are solid tho

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I agree, Culver's is good

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I went to In and Out on a work trip to LA after hearing so much about it. For all the hype it got, the food was very meh. I'd say I felt like I wasted my money, but I expensed it. I liked Culvers when I was on work trips to the midwest. Far better than Five Guys (overpriced) and In and Out.

by Kallie36 1 day ago

I recently tried Culver's for the first time and you might be right. The burgers are so good and even though I wasn't blown away by the frozen custard it was still pretty good.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culver's is by far the best. In and out is hot garbage

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The pork tenderloin sandwich is arguably one of the best fast food menu items anywhere.

by Practical_Teach 1 day ago

I'm from WI, live in SC now. We just got a Culver's and I was like, so what, had it several times and never liked it in WI... Then it was brought to the job site we are working at, and I was quite impressed with the burger. I don't do McD's or BK, sometimes 5 guys, no Whata/InN'Out around here...

by Sharp-Button-686 1 day ago

It was always less than ok to me. Not typically seasoned well, don't like butter with my burger, and super inconsistent between locations. I only go for the custard and cheese curds.

by Same_Prompt_5281 1 day ago

Culvers has the best grilled chicken sandwich I can get at a drivethru AND I can get steamed broccoli as the side. Perfection.

by Healthy-Tiger 1 day ago

Culver's is delicious. I wish we had them here on the west coast.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I prefer Burger-Fi.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'll have to check where it is and try it out.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

All I know is I want my burger to taste like real ground beef and I get that taste from here.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culver's is fantastic. Being a good value is just a bonus.

by murphylia 1 day ago

I don't know, man. As someone who has lived near Culver's my entire life, I personally find most of their offerings overhyped and overpriced

by zita24 1 day ago

I've lived in CA, FL, NY, and MA and I've never heard of Culver's, so can't confirm

by Low-Boysenberry-1617 1 day ago

Culver's was VERY underwhelming in my experience. The chicken tenders were basically the same ones in a kid cuisine and the burger was just a standard fast food burger, a 6 if I had to put a number on it.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I wish we had these in Canada, we have almost every other chain.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Every time I eat at Culver's it's never as good as I think it'll be. It's definitely better than fast food chains, but doesn't come close to shake shack imo in terms of the fast casual space. Culver's is cheaper for sure but for $2 more I'll do shake shack every time.

by Hefty-Cupcake 1 day ago

I have never seen a Culver's. Where in the country do they even have them?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Started in Wisconsin /midwest but now in many states throughout the country.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That's exactly what a corporate plant would say….. especially one that sells fast food.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

lol well I'll type out that I like to eat little papers with LSD on them and little mushrooms with Psilo in them. Don't think a corporate plant would write about those. I live on the fringe. Just been disappointed by all the hyped fast food burgers.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Couldn't agree less. Culver's is one of the most overrated fast food places I've been to. It's fine.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Maybe I'll have to give Culver's another shot. I tried it months ago with their patty melt and it was good but nothing to cry home about. Any recommendations?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Love Culver's but I'd take a shake shack burger over Culver's.

by Only_Pair 1 day ago

Meh, Culvers is pretty mid and does nothing to stand apart from the majority of other mid fast food burgers

by Anonymous 1 day ago

My nostalgia fast food burger chain is better than yours!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Culver's is fine. Nothing special.

by First-Breakfast 1 day ago

Imo Culver's burgers used to be really good before the pandemic. I had one a few years ago (2023) and they didn't taste as good. (Maybe it was just a bad day). I prefer Shake Shack burgers. Culver's does have the best fast food ice cream.

by Firm_Might3805 1 day ago

As a Culver'stan in my friend group, Five Guys is my favorite restaurant period.

by Few-Shopping-6920 1 day ago

Tbh five guys would have to be 2x better than it already is (I do like it) to be worth the price. My wife and I got like a hot dog ,1 burger, and 1 fries to split with no drinks and it was like $40. I have no idea how lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah, I love Five Guys but I haven't been in a few years because I can get a pretty decent burger for a lot less money other places.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's absurd. So many more economical options.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Portillos is better

by LuckyHorse7662 1 day ago

For a burger? One of the worst I've had. Italian beef is aight though.

by dietrichflavie 1 day ago

Dude is culvers where I live just garbage cause I don't get the praise at all. It was so extraordinarily plain and unimpressive. Same thing for habit burger. Two random burger places that came to town that people supposedly love in other places but just seems like a basic overpriced burgers to me.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Who in your opinion has a better fast food burger in a combo that you can get for under $10?

by murphylia 23 hours ago

If there ever was a time when Culver's made a decent burger, that time has passed. Nowadays, the Culver burger is indistinguishable from McDonald's slop

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

You either have a bad Culver's, a really good McDonald's, or just haven't eaten at either in a long time because just…no. This is "Charlie Brown had hoes" level of untrue.

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

Is this unpopular? Culver's is easily one of the best places I've ever eaten at. The only downside is they don't have breakfast, so if I'm craving fast food breakfast, I have to go elsewhere.

by brisaheidenreic 22 hours ago

Those who live in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas would like to have a word. We have Braums where food is cheap (but good), and it's free to upgrade your drink that comes with your meal to a milkshake. You can order a bag of burgers (5 burgers) for 6 bucks.

by rolfsonlorenz 22 hours ago

I will have to try one if I am in the area. Thanks for the rec.

by Anonymous 22 hours ago

No problem! I recommend the 4 cheese burger personally. Also, braums was founded in Oklahoma, and they still get their milk from local farms (milk is possessed and arrives to each location within 24-36 hours of the cow being milked) so it TYPICALLY is better the closer you are to OKC as it is fresher.

by rolfsonlorenz 21 hours ago

Is it Braums dairy and ice cream? Looks like I'll have to travel a ways into MO to get it but I will if I'm out that way

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

Yes, they also have frozen yogurt that's soft serve

by rolfsonlorenz 21 hours ago

Culver's can't touch in n out. Non sense and I'm an Ohioan.

by Anonymous 20 hours ago

I'm not gonna type gtfo, but this I've never disagreed with anything more in my life

by Anonymous 20 hours ago

I've never had In-N-Out Burger, so I cannot say about their quality, but I will say that five guys beat just about everything, including Culver's; of course, five guys does not have a drive-through and they are horrendously expensive, but their burgers are probably the best.
