+60 "Guy holding a fish" is a great picture for dating apps. amirite?

I have never in my life been able to take a picture of myself where I look relaxed/happy. It always looks so forced and disingenuous. Like I'm smiling just to trick someone into believing I'm actually human or something. At least with an emotionless face I look natural, even if undesirable.

One or two is ok... but diversify!

Yeah he should definitely go with different kinds of fish in every picture.

Or maybe one where he is being held up by the fish

That would be cool.

I know for me, when I see the "guy holding a fish" picture, I have to ask myself if that person is super conservative or not.

What, liberals can't enjoy the outdoors too?!?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

The whole point is that the type of guy this usually is they don't end up liking. not whether or not the pic is good lol it also just becomes a basic theme when every man's best pic is with his fish

I think hunting/fishing are predominately male interests that definitely appeal to a certain type of woman but that type might be rare depending on where you live. So the "no fish pictures" thing might be good advice in some people's situations but not others

I agree. TBH I'm not that into fish pics personally, only because I'm not into fishing but it's not a deal breaker, I won't swipe left because of one. My dad loved fishing, he took me with him all the time (I'd go just so we could spend time together) and I know how happy it made him, I saw the joy and excitement first hand. Once of my favorite photos of him is a fish pic I took of him. It's a valid hobby and it's a lot of fun for people who like it, it gets them outside and gives them a way to de stress and relax, and it can be a social activity with his friends so I don't really understand the hate. If you don't like fishing, you don't have to go with him 🤷🏻‍♀️ go do something else while he's out or go with, take a book and read by the lake or whatever. It's better than having no hobbies or interests, sitting at home doing nothing except staring at a screen.

Homie, its a dead, weirdly looking animal. You don't want it on your dating profile.

People have an issue with this? Why? Do they hate fishing? I always find pics of guys holding fish pretty sexy. Oh well, weed out the people who hate men who fish I guess.

Yeah for me hurting an animal as a hobby is not appealing. So i do agree with this opinion, it's a good picture if that's what someone likes as it will indeed weed out those who have different views and interests. And it applies to everything, not just fishing. If i was on dating apps I'd definitely put pictures with my cats even though it might put off some men who would think I'm a crazy cat lady lmao
