Looks like we got ourselves a good ol' fashioned unpopular opinion! ⬆️ I prefer a slower build up of story/ characters/ events anyway, in the same way that the first LotR film was my favourite, but there were definitely fewer "exciting things" in it.

Basically, I personally love the show even if I agree that it's pretty slow. It's definitely not for everyone but I watch it with my mum. I couldn't watch it alone because I'd get bored. Maybe what you need is a watching buddy!

S2 is much better than S1. That's an unpopular opinion though. It becomes a contained character study in S2 and elevates the material nicely. After that, it goes off the rails and stays that way until you finally hit one major Glenn moment and never watch another episode.

Don't know who told you it's good. It's below average at best. Season 1 was really cool for its time. Then it became a soap opera from season 2 onwards with the occasional zombies and shootouts. Constant cliff hangers, same drama, different location.

i read the graphic novel along side the show until it ended and the thing i noticed is they tried to pace the show like the comic and provide those mood shots that are drawn and they hit different in ink than on film. i understand it and see it as an artistic choice, not just a pacing of the drama and reveals, but film trying to capture the stillness from the source material. sometimes that really really lost my attention because i wanted the story to move. the directing choice almost kept me from trying fear the walking dead but i saw the 100 and loved lexa, so for that actress i gave it a chance and liked it a lot more because it moved like a tv show. i did also see the other spinoffs but have no praise for them. i would suggest reading the story if you can first because you can push through it. the show and comic are somewhat parallel in the way events happen but they have different characters on the show so you get a little bit of a different experience in that sense. if you know what is coming and that the show will give you character changes then it might be easier to watch. it's a show about the end of the world and how dangerous zombies are, but people can be worse so who can any of us really trust. if you like the psychology behind all that, hard choices, loss, and people trauma bonding then you get a lot of that in the series plus a lot of scenic shots to remind us how empty and changed the world appears.

I don't think you'll like it if you don't like the first few seasons. IMO TWD is one where the first few seasons are the best and then afterwards it starts to degrade in quality.

I've never watched an episode. when people buy merch for any show..I know it sucks…those shows are never good. Amazed me how the zombies that crave brains always allowed enough time for the non zombies to figure out their humanly squabbles before they would crave more brains. How convenient. All learned from commercials
