+43 Waking up early isn't inherently productive, night owls get way more done when they work in their own rhythm, amirite?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yeah unfortunately all the early risers got together and decided how society was going to function and unfortunately the opinions of the night owls weren't taken into consideration as we were all still sleeping πŸ˜”

by Bransonrau 2 days ago

Exactly by the time we woke up, the 9 to 5 was already signed into law and breakfast meetings were a thing. Total ambush.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that's a good one. I was still sleeping as wellπŸ˜…

But for real though I am so much more productive at night. The amount of times I have gotten the sudden urge to clean the house at 2 AM may be weird but it works for me. Most of my best work on my current projects always happens at night.

by Bransonrau 2 days ago

I totally understand and I am like that as well. An environment with no noise and pure quiet. You can have your music on if you want. Knowing that there are going to be no disturbances at all and it's just you and your work. It's a work of art. Too beautiful

by Anonymous 2 days ago

For some it is like that and that is okay. Some of us are up at 10 and everything is mostly done. Will just polish up the loose ends and we get to enjoy the day with a peace of mind. As the evening comes, we get ready to do our work.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

It depends on what you do for a living but I would say statistically, there is more you can get done during the day than at night due to hours of operations for lots of businesses like banks, schools, etc. But again, it depends on what you do for work and what you deem as productive.

by Top-Negotiation 2 days ago

As for me I do my best work between 10pm and 2/3am. Waking up at 5am just makes me hate the sun and everyone around me 😩

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Finally someone who understands it.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Welcome to the club 😁

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yeah this guy definitely knows how to code

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Lol who, me?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I agree, however "during the day" isn't the issue. Early risers are up before normal people are. Everybody is up during the day.

by Icy-Perspective-9648 2 days ago

Yeah because society is adapted for early birds who are a majority. Night owls have to deal with it, but they still exist.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I think society adapted to the Sun, the first god. Evolution wise, we're suited for the day time not night time. Just like our eyes mainly. So yah night owls have to deal with that…

by Alone_Horror_2590 2 days ago

Haha thank you and thank you again. It all depends right and people don't have to stereotype waking up times lol

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yeah well that works as well and for some of us the night time just has the best chances

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Wake up at 10am, no traffic to office. Nice.

by Obvious-Raspberry506 2 days ago

Wake up to see the money you made last night, make more. Enjoy the day with some real peace of mind.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

That's not an opionion but common knowledge by now

by Particular_Scale923 2 days ago

The only thing common is ignorance.

by Motor_Cut5607 2 days ago

Gotta repeat it now and then so they know πŸ™ƒ

everyone has their own rythm, it's true, but waking up early, or more correctly sleeping between 11-3/4 am is inherently more productive because that's the time when our organs get the best rest and detox. thinking about it, for the longest period of time, people have evolved to go to bed with sunfall and wake up at dawn. there will be exceptions, but for most people going to bed and waking up early is the healthiest.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I hear you and that's cool but doing what most do is just not it if we want to get more out of life lol

by Anonymous 2 days ago

As a fellow night owl, i agree. Unfortunately my work starts in the morning, even meetings at 9am. I feel my brain works better at midnight instead.

by caylahintz 2 days ago

Better change work soon haha or the meetings just gotta happen a bit later on when you're well rested.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I would put money on the ratio of Productive to non productive people is better for early risers vs night owls.

by Icy-Perspective-9648 2 days ago

That ratio is alright. Happily part of the productive night owls

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I'm sure you are, but you never ever hear of anybody getting up early to game or watch TV. But people just vegetating until 2am is a fairly common thing. There's an army of late night procrastinators

by Icy-Perspective-9648 2 days ago

Yeah procrastinators will always be there sadly but it's not a bad idea to hustle at night. Online mostly

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Being a night owl implies that we wake up late. I usually wake up at 18h-20h so no, I'm not in a vegetative state at 2am.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

If you look at the lives of early birds vs night owls in just about every example I know of personally the early birds are objectively more successful. That doesn't mean no night owls are ever successful but in general they are less successful. Just because OP is one of a handful of exceptions doesn't change the reality.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I'm a morning person but I totally agree with you. By the time it gets dark outside it would take an act of god to make me productive. We should all be allowed to function within the hours that work best for us.

by Henryheidenreic 2 days ago

Generally speaking, society is geared toward morning productivity. We're adapted for it. Because of that, it is inherently more productive to be a morning person. You're more likely to meet important people, more likely to encounter opportunities, and more likely to keep a healthy sleep cycle. Even from a very basic standpoint, you're more productive by virtue of saving on light or being able to do more things during daylight hours.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

The early rising productivity "hack" is for people with 9-5 jobs who literally can't be night owls. Why is this hard to grasp

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I've noticed a difference between men and females on this. Men typically are night owls (usually in a non-productive way though) and females get up early.

by ImmediateRide756 2 days ago

Haha come on don't do us dirty like that. It does depend with what you're up all night for though.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I wouldn't say that, women just fulfilmore of the sites that are time sensitive like care work.for elders and children. They have to get up weather they want to or not.
