Cooking is basically Adult Lego with heat, amirite?

I wish cooking was as easy as literally following an instruction book on exactly where to put each thing and that I would get the exact same result each time.

I think you vastly underestimate the amount of creativity, intuition, and logic that can go into creating your own dishes. Also you are absolutely wrong about math. It's not something where the higher functions are only accessible to some people. With the right instruction and attention, almost anyone can learn math way beyond the basics But I do agree that absolutely anyone can learn to cook, and learn to cook well.

But Lego is high art with mystical talents. Have you seen what these people are doing on Lego Masters?

Anyone can learn how to cook, but it takes skill to do it well. It's like writing. I think it's an oversimplification to say that you just follow the steps and repeat. It often takes on-the-fly problem solving, especially when something doesn't go as planned. I like the glorification of it. It's such a fundamental and ancient human thing. It's one of the critical inventions that differentiated the Homo genus from other animals. To me, that is profound.

Not even close. Legos aren't time sensitive and there isn't such high sample variance among "identical" pieces. that force you to constantly adjust.

You're thinking too logically and nihilistic about it. The way you explain cooking is the same for everything, so nothing can be considered high art or talent. Beauty, expressiveness, and taste are all factors that lead up to it being considered profound and set above others, so you contradict your own statement.
