What you are mostly seeing is people doping. That's why you see the very lean chiseled look. A lot more people dope than we think.

As a guy, I personally find guys who are shredded fairly inspirational, but it's not a physique I want. I'd like to be large and muscular with a nice layer of fat. It's what I'm working for at the moment. I don't want to feel like a bumpy tv remote when I cuddle my gf and I also don't want to worry about the extra maintenance that a ripped body takes.

Not unpopular. All the guys complaining about unrealistic male body standards neglect to acknowledge that it's other men who are into the roid-muscle look who like that. A lot of women find dad bod attractive (don't confuse beer gut and bad hygiene with dad bod - 2 different things) and Jason Momoa with holiday bod is still… Jason Momoa. The whole rat-boy craze (what a terrible name) shows that women aren't all seeking muscle either. None of the boy band members had bodies like bodybuilders.

I have similar attractions towards women. Never been into atheletic/fit. I like curves.. short, thick, chubby. Or I also really like the type of natural feminine build you'd see in a renaissance era painting when they've got a bit of belly/pooch goin on.. Beautiful.

I don't think this is unpopular. I don't really care about body type - the personality is far more important. Saying that, a very overweight person isn't attractive for me romantically. I know myself, and if I were to date someone who often eats overly unhealthy and isn't so active, I'll be more likely to head that way, which I don't want for me.
