I think Dr. Pepper is kinda mediocre, amirite?

We really need to work on moving past using phrases like "people being delusional" and "everyone's faking it" when it comes to unpopular opinions. Different people have different preferences and tastes, that's all there is to it. Me personally I like the drink but it's never a go to unlike Sprite or Mountain Dew.

Yep, that was my experience. They introduced that drink a couple decades ago in my home country and went all in on the advertising. Didn't work, and neither did Ocean Spray. Mountain Dew caught on fine.

People are "delusional" because their tastebuds work differently than yours? Everyone tastes things differently and you just happen to have tastebuds that make you think Dr. Pepper is mid and people that like it happen to have tastebuds that make them think it's good.

I think it's because people are so used to the taste of Coca Cola when you get into Dr Pepper you really start appreciating the nuance differences even though it's not really that amazing. If you're not used to regular coke Dr Pepper isn't gonna wow you

It's alright. Its alot smoother than coke, but personally I like how harsh coke is. It's not good if it doesn't burn a little going down.

As a kid, soda was so normalized. I consider it my 4th choice as an adult. Absolutely none of them are exceptional beverages. They're just something to drink when there isn't anything better on the menu. I do water at home and sweet tea at restaurants.
