Double wrapped (two tortilla) tacos are unneccessarily excessive 🌮, amirite?

Dude on a real good taco, I need 2 corn tortillas to hold it all together or it'll be a mess. Do you wanna eat them with a fork or something?

The "real" Mexican taco places I've been to, the kind where I'm only white dude and try to order in mangled Spanish, nearly always do two corn tortillas. Corn tortillas can fall apart easier. And I've seen them making these tortillas at the restaurant so they're not Mission they just bought a bunch of from Sam's or whatever.

Unfortunately it hasn't been on the menu for a while, aside from a brief return a couple of years ago. But it's a hard-shell taco inside a tortilla, with a layer of refried beans in between that makes the whole thing. Easy to recreate at home, other than making sure your tortillas and hard shells line up, size-wise.

Well the double decker taco at Taco Bell has nacho cheese in the middle and is the same price as their regular tacos for some reason (just lower the taco prices! 1.99 is absurd). Also if we're counting the cheesy Gordita crunch as a double layer taco that's like the best item at any fast food place so you're going to have to admit you're wrong.

If they are fresh handmade tortillas, I like to do single wrap plus like 2 extra tortillas for all the bits of meat I spilled at the end But the premade ones sometimes just don't go the distance alone
