+52 Only one person per household should be able to enter a Supermarket. amirite?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

So I should leave my child in the car or hire a babysitter just to go to the grocery store?

by Intelligent-Lie 2 days ago

Send your kid in to do the shopping 🤔

by kertzmannletha 2 days ago

For me it'd be hotdogs and pop tarts. I don't like that idea.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Survival of the fittest (for the extra stupid, this is sarcasm)

by Anonymous 1 day ago

One child, in a shopping cart is an exception

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What if you have 2 children, similar age?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

And how do you then teach kids how to shop!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Child one will babysit child two and vice versa 🤔

by pagacguiseppe 1 day ago

So, a parent with more than one and/or children that don't fit in the cart anymore should leave the child/other child/children in the car or hire a babysitter just to go grocery shopping?

by Alysa05 1 day ago

Maybe you should go to the grocery store at a different time of day.

by Ryannrenner 1 day ago

So if I have two young kids of a similar age, and have work during family hours, I either have to leave one kid in the car, hire a babysitter, or take a day off work for grocery shopping?

by ConsequenceNarrow783 1 day ago

I think they were saying that OP should go at a different time of day. Not the people bringing their families to the store...

by Anonymous 1 day ago

If you have twin babies?

by Schuyler56 1 day ago

What if they are a teenager? They will never learn how to function in a store if they don't go in.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

And any other kids should be fine sitting in the car unsupervised, right?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

So once they're 5 and don't fit in a shopping cart they're staying home alone ?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Put your 13yo in that cart

by Jleuschke 1 day ago

Make a list, leave the kids home with the spouse…take turns!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What if they don't have a spouse? Or babysitting options?

by HuckleberryFuzzy7008 1 day ago

Vitamin D is good for you. Venture outside once in a while. Maybe even interact with other humans.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Youre forgetting that split families exist. When i have my kid i still need groceries.

by Few_Comedian 1 day ago

There is no spouse, can i still leave them at home? I mean, they‘re barely old enough to crawl, whats gonna Happen, right?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Single parents can just starve I guess.

by ornyasmine 1 day ago

Open your own supermarket and see how that works out.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

There's one of those big box members only type of stores near us, they do not allow children under 14. We were gifted a membership 10 years ago, number of times we've been? Exactly 0. Just not practical with the kids and there's other options.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Are you one of those ppl who sits there and stews silently while ppl shop in your way? Just say excuse me and go on through lol it's easy as that

by spinkakimberly 1 day ago

This!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

They are one of those people who believe everything needs to be structured the way that is most convenient for them. How dare people exist and make a store crowded when they want to go shopping

by Elmoreschaden 1 day ago

So parents can't bring their kids to the supermarket?

by legrosjewel 1 day ago

Don't be ridiculous. You deposit your children in the family retention cage upon entry.

by Carmen88 1 day ago

For a "small" fee

by Anonymous 1 day ago

If they can sit in the cart sure, they aren't taking up any space.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

How are kids going to learn how to act appropriately in a shop and shop for their own groceries if they never set foot in a grocery store between infancy and adulthood

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This. Some parents use the grocery store as an educational experience to teach their kids about proper public behavior, self-restraint and general nutrition. They get to learn about and be a part of what goes into their bodies each week. Even when that's not the active goal, it's a passive learning opportunity for them. We don't teach kids how to behave and become adults by shielding them from all the environments that allow them to practice appropriate behaviors.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Right? I learned how to behave, how to find a good deal, and what goes into the meals we made as a kid by going to the store with my mom and dad, and then when I was old enough to shop on my own I wasn't clueless.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

You have no greater entitlement to that space than anyone else

by Elmoreschaden 1 day ago

Yup, exactly I mean, what is OP smoking to think that something like this would work

by Anonymous 1 day ago

They shall die in OPs world 🤣 I am one of those shoppers & actually canceled costco in part because of this nonsense!!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Unpopular opinion: people should have patience. There's no need for some overly restrictive measures using the guise of "efficiency" when in reality you waste more time taking a number two than you do waiting for someone to exist in a grocery store. I bet you don't talk to anyone in the grocery store, and the real problem is these families talking and laughing and having a good time while you're stewing in fantasy land. "Oh, if grocery stores only allowed one person per household that would show them. That'll kill the smiles off their faces!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

No lmao

by danyka60 1 day ago

Yes, very unpopular for almost everybody. Families won't like this, shop owners neither.

by Livid_Sundae_4289 1 day ago

People need to eat, they will make their sales either way!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Just much less. I buy much more stuff when my family is with me.

by Livid_Sundae_4289 1 day ago

So you will save money then? Sounds like a win!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The grocery store i go to is the one that my cities fire fighters and police dept use. Should ONLY one member of each be able to go to the store?

by Alexandrelowe 1 day ago

To be fair, I would be okay with fewer common cops being allowed in at a time. Firefighters? They cool.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Well, maybe the cops.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I really don't get how this is a problem. People don't take up that much space.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's an idea that problematic for many reasons and would be impossible to enforce. What about an elderly couple who need each other? One has poor eye sight and the other has mobility issues?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Nice job, OP, this is a truly unpopular opinion!

by Beginning-Exam 1 day ago

Hot cat deaths let's go!

by Forsaken_Park 1 day ago

Yeah, don't bring your cats and dogs with you either.

by ExpertFisherman7428 1 day ago

What if we are family but all live in separate houses?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This isn't just unpopular, it's goofy. This stance makes some assumptions about family dynamics and is naive at best.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This isn't an unpopular opinion. It's just a stupid one

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Well, it's unpopular because it's stupid, to be fair.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

No.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Oh yeah this one is gonna be unpopular

by Artistic_Complex_993 1 day ago

I think if parents just paid attention to their kids and kept them from walking into or in front of people that would be good enough. The grocery store should be a learning experience. Little 3 year olds walking into my cart is one thing (and still annoying), it's another thing when there's 12 year olds playing handheld games standing in the middle of the aisle while mom and dad talk about what soup to buy

by lavern91 1 day ago

Oh, yeah. You can hardly move in the grocery store for all those damned kids and their Gameboys...

by Clear_Tackle 1 day ago

It's not the families, it's the stores narrowing isles to fit more crap in. They used to be not so bad, once.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Different opinion. Supermarkets should finally offer sensible pages where you can order everything and it will be reliably packed together. Then pick up or delivery. Saves all the crap with parking, walking around, queuing at the checkout, packing up again, pensioners standing in the room and so on

by Anonymous 1 day ago

this is an hilarious example of a simple "solution" to a complicated problem

by emilgaylord 1 day ago

This is insanely idiotic.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Sorry, but that's just dumb

by Shaun72 1 day ago

So what are single parents supposed to do. Leave their 6 and 8 year old at home? This is the stupidest take ever

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Not just an unpopular opinion but a downright weird one.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah everybody, just leave your kids alone to fend for themselves so this one loser can get through the grocery store quicker.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Deffenatly a stupid opinion.

by sophia44 1 day ago

Aside from all the practical and obvious reasons against this people brought up….how quickly would this go from a form of "efficiency" to straight up control about who's allowed where? I'll answer for you…..very

by trisha24 1 day ago

lol No thanks.

by Presley35 1 day ago

I mean, they tried this during Covid and even then it didn't work soooooo …

by Anonymous 1 day ago

You should open a supermarket with a daycare in it and let us know how that goes. This person here…forgetting that kids exist. 😂

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This is such a weird opinion, I'm not sure it qualifies for popular or unpopular…

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Why must everything be in a rush or about function. I mainly get groceries delivered but when I go on holiday either staying in a different city in the UK or somewhere abroad I tend to stay in a villa/cottage/apartment. The first day of the holiday my husband and I always go to the supermarket to get provisions but also to see what local foods are available and interesting. Most of the year we eat really healthly when on holiday we like to indulge. It brings us great pleasure. So I disagree with your opinion. If you don't like the crowds shop at less busier times or get your food delivered. Lots of people have brought up essential reasons why this is a ridiculous idea such as child care. My reason is just that it can be an enjoyment shopping with your spouse or family.

by Over_Time4128 1 day ago

Nah man I take my kids to the grocery store and we enjoy the outing.

by Furman22 1 day ago

Like 90% of people grocery shopping are by themselves. Getting upset about the few large families shopping is the biggest waste of energy.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

People with a temper should be banned from supermarkets.

by Livid_Sundae_4289 1 day ago

Why do you think I am talking about you?

by Livid_Sundae_4289 1 day ago

Love that idea. I hate going to the store because it's so cramped and people don't have spatial awareness.

by kertzmannletha 1 day ago

for those who find this absolutely ridiculous You will agree in time.

by juana73 1 day ago

So I get to leave my grumpy husband at home? I'm all in. How do you feel about emotional support chickens?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Hold up Lil Dictator.
