So you do wash your face

by rippindejuan 1 day ago

I think it solely depends on what skin type you have.

Correct

by Frequent-Natural2983 1 day ago

So you're doing the normal thing of general cleanse at least once a day? What's so novel about that? Lmao.

by Working-School-429 1 day ago

Sounds like you were using the wrong products for your skin type and/or mixing things that shouldn't be mixed. That being said, some people with dry skin feel like washing twice a day is too much which is fine because it's what works for them. I need to wash my face twice a day otherwise I look like an oil slick lol. I wouldn't necessarily say this an unpopular opinion considering it's highly dependent on skin type and skin concerns.

So you're washing your face?

"It worked for me in this small time frame so of course it'll work for everyone!" ANECDOTAL!

This.

Can someone tell my hormones that?

by Danielatoy 1 day ago

We all should find what works for us but mild cleansers exist for this reason

by National-Warthog 1 day ago

You realistically only need to wash your face once a day, but if you have large pores, wear makeup, etc. it really should be two. All depends on if you're using the correct cleanser for your skin.

You were washing your face 3x daily? Holy moly

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Wash your face with filtered water. I never had acne because even as a kid I hated using soap and products on my face.

by AdventurousFig9604 1 day ago

I think people should consult with their dermatologist to determine what is best skin care regimen is best for them.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Not everybody has a dermatologist lmao. Thats rich. Good old trying until you get desired results.

by Willing_Bug_555 1 day ago

Yeah soap thins the skin.

by Ziemannwiley 1 day ago

I wash my face at night with residual soap or shampoo, works fine.

I've found that my skin does the best after it's been in natural water. Such as lake, river or ocean water. I think that the natural water helps with the balance of good bateria on your skin. If you strip away the good bacteria with harsh chemicals, then it will be "clean" I guess, but not healthly.

Washing your face is fine, AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER TO CLOSE YOUR PORES AFTERWARD. Most people use warm or hot water to wash, which opens your pores, which allows dirt to get in there. Also diet plays a role, greasy foods tend to produce more acne.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Curious, does putting on lotion right afterwards count as closing pores? That's what I typically do, but I also only use face specific cleansers a few times a month at most

by Equivalent_Falcon 1 day ago

Rinse with cold water, then lotion up. Close the pores AND protect them.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Pores don't open or close, per every dermatologist and scientist ever.

Source?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Thank you for providing sources. I stand corrected. It's still a good practice to "close your pores," as a cleansing method to decrease/eliminate acne, regardless of opened or closed pores existing or not.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yes. Consuming crack cocaine more than once a day tend to produce more acne as well.

by Willing_Bug_555 1 day ago

Thats a bit extreme, guess you're speaking from experience?

White privilege…
