I agree. I also don't see the problem with having a platonic relationship of someone you had a physical relationship in the past with. We grow and change throughout life. Circumstances change too. I think it's completely okay to be friends with someone you dated years before as long as boundaries are maintained.

I think it depends on why they aren't together. If my girlfriend broke up with her ex because they mutual decided they want to be with other people, I don't mind. If there's some drama they don't want to tell me about, even if the drama is trivial, the fact that there's stuff being hidden is sketchy. Overall, it genuinely depends on the context and how my partner feels about their ex.
