+85 Desensitized by violence on social media, amirite?

This reminded me of a guy I used to work with. He'd just sit there at lunch and watch videos of people killing monkeys. He loved it and would always be like "hey check this out, this is hilarious!" Like no dude, you need to see a psychiatrist asap Some people are just straight up lunatics.

I practically see none so it's avoidable. Also a lot of people actually live in violence, they are desensitized by life. People seeing people getting shot around them aren't going to care when it's so far on a screen.

Have you heard of Gladiators?

It's been like this for two or three decades now. You're just now figuring this out? TBH most people won't care (the way you'd expect them to) unless it happens on their front porch.

No one wants to admit it, but humans are naturally fascinated by the macabre. Take Jeffrey Dahmer for example. A horrific human being with extraordinarily deplorable behavior throughout his life. Take a look on IMDB to see how many documentaries have been made about him. If people didn't watch the documentaries, only one would have been made.

Whats the unpopular opinion? I get that its more common now but I think if i showed a death video to my coworkers 95% of them would be uncomfortable and even report me.

really? i had a coworker show me a video of a lady getting stabbed in the neck and then laughed it off!

I genuinely will never understand why people talk about desensitization like it's a bad thing. It's never put me at any kind of disadvantage. Wouldn't you WANT the population to not be soft? If someone gets squeamish by a little blood, that person's not gonna make it far if something bad happens to society.

People need to remind themselves that they're not too far away from the crazy Lady Gaga's of the Capital with that kind of behavior (from The Hunger Games)
