Cut of steak is relevant and unmentioned here. Yeah if it's just a sirloin, ribeye, fillet, strip etc...no way. Short rib is well done technically

Real cooks/chefs can make a well done steak delicious. But most people making their own well done steak are just over cooking it on the stove. High heat pan for a good sear and then into the oven is the "proper" way to do a well done steak, yet that's rare(ha!) to see done in the average persons kitchen. But side by side by Gordon Ramsey himself I'd rather have a medium rare steak over well done.

I order well done filet mignon all the time. That cut of meat is perfectly tender well done. Even the charred bits have a really nice chew.

I can do it. I don't like to, but I can. Super hot pan to get a good sear and finished in the oven I can get a ribeye pretty damn close to well and keep it juicy. Those saying they can't don't know how to cook.

Marinadated steaks are common , and meat tenderizing powder is designed for that use . MSG is often recommended to be added to any dish by many .
