+58 Sports that require silence and every single variable to be controlled are crummy sports and I want people to ignore the "etiquette" and just start talking. amirite?

Golf would be more interesting if they sounded an air horn every time they went to swing followed by intensive booing from the crowd if they miss

Probably the same thing golf does to all of us…

I kind of agree. Imagine an NFL quarterback throwing a temper tantrum because the opposing crowd was too loud. And you definitely can't tell me that hitting a golf ball requires more knowledge and skill than reading and NFL defense, calling audibles, knowing when and if to go to the second and third receiver etc.

NFL QBs do get frustrated when the opposing crowd is too loud and they can't call audibles

It's evident you have never swung a golf club

And tennis. This rant was set off by a tennis clip, but you're totally right that I was also thinking about golf.

When such close precision is needed, the noise CAN be a distraction. When literally 35mm from a giant stick can be the difference between winning and losing a game, people have to be quiet for the games to actually matter. Can you imagine telling someone that some bitch screaming at the wrong time cost them 500k and being the greatest in the world?

I have a simple solution for you; don't go to golf tournaments.

And for this week's uninformed opinion about golf…

I wonder what a croquet match is like?

I miss the days before tennis sounded like the players had an orgasm every time they hit the ball.

See the vibe of golf makes sense to me. Tennis on the other hand has a very pretentious aura to it

I feel the same way about baseball. Like a batter can literally tell the pitcher "I'm not ready yet" and adjust themselves to prepare. What other major team sport are you allowed to tell your opponent: "oh please don't attack me yet, I'm not ready" 🤣

Just say you hate golf.
