I think there's a place for them when something has a really good plot or premise but either the execution was poorly done or hasn't aged well. For instance, I can understand why Disney would remake Snow White as it really hasn't aged well. But with films like Lilo and Stitch, Moana, or Lion King, these are still beautiful looking films with strong plots. There's just no reason for them other than to make money
