Snipers in multiplayer shooters are just a pain in the ass, amirite?

I agree, but in games like Battlefront 2 I think it's fair game. There's a reason why early COD online spaces were against campers though. Time and place.

I read this and I agreed. Hence, not a unpopular opinion.

I play the Recon (sniper) class in Battlefield games around 60% of the time, so I disagree with your hate for the class, but I do agree that they can be a pain in the ass in some cases, mostly the types that hide on the edges of the map to get that 5 long range headshot kills in a match. I myself like to play as a frontline sniper, sitting just behind the assault soldiers, to pick off any enemy who stands still to fire on my team. It's much more enjoyable, as I get more kills than sitting in the back of the map, waiting for that one perfect headshot. I also bring much more value to the team by spotting enemies with my gadgets.

Wind. The ultimate test between a lazy sniper and a seasoned veteran. Add wind back to shooters and permit my rise to glory once more.

That was a lot of words for what I've always felt lol. I can do OK sniper work, but I've never found it fun. A really good sniper…I can respect the skill, but they will tilt the battle so far in their favor that it's just not fun to play. And if it's not fun, where's the value in that? I will admit that I do kinda have fun hunting snipers, though. I wouldn't say it's a special skill, but it can be a nice distraction from the normal murder rampages lol
