If someone thinks they are ugly and that's why no one will date them then they are also shallow-minded. amirite?

Yes, confidence is sexy and all, but if a person thinks they're un-dateable for physical reasons then the main culprit is self-consciousness, I think.. not necessarily that they're shallow.

Ouch, yeah. I will say I've grown and well this is my face and it is what it is, but as a teen and young adult, man it sucked. People absolutely treat you differently when you are unattractive.

I meet A LOT of average looking people that are jealous of attractive people. Its very important to them simply because they dont have it. Youd think that average looking people build up some kind of character but it isnt the case. Its just not what the world is.

Not true... People aren't blind and they see the reactions they get from people- even those quick to suppress those reactions and try to be kind. Then you have to remember that they probably sit there and listen to other people use ugly as.an insult or undesirable thing, even if it's not directed at them, personally. It's also reflected in many forms of media. An ugly person has a legit reason to feel insecure and while some ugly people are spirited enough to move beyond it that doesn't mean that people will always looked past their ugliness for things like looks or whatever.

I strongly disagree with that viewpoint. You can possess all the positive qualities our culture values. Still, if you don't meet conventional standards of attractiveness, your opportunities for friendship and romantic relationships will more likely be limited to others who also don't fit those standards.

Disagree. Sometimes people just know where they stand in society when it comes to looks. I dont think that makes them shallow because they are aware they are objectively unattractive. Some people just are

I'm pleased you've never suffered from debilitating low self esteem. Body dysmorphia isn't fun. Been there, done that, and it's a very big contributor to lacking confidence around others.
