Ah yes, why should we acknowledge our mistakes
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I'm sorry you feel that way.

An apology isn't meant to change the past. It's meant as a promise that an individual is going to try their best to ensure that mistake doesn't happen again. The "use" is to communicate future intentions, as well as a sense of regret for the past and sympathy for the situation caused. ...Do you seriously not understand that?

Just because you have never actually been sorry for something you have done doesn't mean that everyone is the same. A genuine apology can make a difference, it's not meant to magically change what you did in the past but it is supposed to be a start to how you will change in the future.

Who hurt you…?

This is a sign of mental illness. It shows in disorders such as ASPD, psychopathy, conduct disorder and NPD.

Pure petulance

Ofc it's not going to fix it, but apologies if done truthfully show the the person who did the wrong thing regrets it. Apologies where never to fix anything, but to show remorse, just like saying thanks shows appreciation. You can stay mad if you want, but apologizing is still a respectful thing to do.

So have you never felt remorse or regret and wanted to express that to someone so they resent you less? It lubricates relationships since you seem like a realist you should try to grasp that formality and politeness surve a purpose in manipulating relationships so at the very least if you're a psychopath then at least you can weaponize you lack of empathy.

You're stupid and useless. I'm sorry, didn't really mean to say that.
