Always did that growing up near Toronto. Loved it! Now on the Wet Coast and totally miss that. Don't miss the tornados! But miss sitting on the porch in the evening with a drink and a smoke, watching the sky strobe, splinter and flash!

I once stood out in Brooklyn under a sky lit up like a chess board with the lightning crossing over itself so consistently it was a veritable patchwork - I've also rarely seen clouds move that fast. I was only outside with it because I was in the courtyard of an older building so I figured there was a very small chance lightning would actually strike me. Honestly, some of my favorite experiences are just watching storms. When I moved into the apartment in my great grandmother's basement that I grew up in after my dad moved out and bought a house, I sat in the door watching storms just like I did when I was a kid.
