Humans aren't supposed to eat mushrooms, amirite?

Your first mistake is using "god" and his intentions as the basis for this theory.

God doesnt exist, if we are sticking to facts. But if this just a make believe deal then anything you say is just as true as anything else and just as nonsensical. But regarding mushrooms, you do realize that these are not the entire organism, just like an appletree is more than the apples. The big difference is that the bulk of the fungus is below ground, while only about half the apple tree is below ground.

So did God give mushrooms the following to test our faith? Key Nutritional Benefits: Low in Calories and Fat: Mushrooms are a low-calorie food, making them a good choice for those watching their weight. They are also low in fat, with virtually no cholesterol. Good Source of B Vitamins: Mushrooms are rich in several B vitamins, including riboflavin, niacin, and pantothenic acid. These vitamins play vital roles in energy production, nervous system function, and maintaining healthy red blood cells. Rich in Minerals: Mushrooms provide essential minerals like selenium, copper, and potassium. Selenium acts as an antioxidant, while copper is important for red blood cell formation and nerve health. Potassium helps regulate blood pressure and muscle function. Beta-Glucans: Certain mushrooms, like shiitake, maitake, and reishi, contain beta-glucans, a type of prebiotic fiber. Beta-glucans have been linked to improved cholesterol levels, reduced blood pressure, and enhanced immune function, according to Cedars-Sinai. Antioxidants: Mushrooms contain various antioxidants, including ergothioneine, which may help protect cells from damage. Heart Health: The combination of potassium, low sodium, and heart-healthy compounds in mushrooms can contribute to preventing plaque buildup on artery walls and reducing the risk of heart disease. Immune Support: Selenium, vitamin D, and beta-glucans in mushrooms can help boost the immune system and enhance the body's ability to fight off infections. Potential Anticancer Properties: Some studies suggest that certain compounds in mushrooms, like beta-glucans, may have anticancer properties, according to SciTechDaily. Gut Health: Mushrooms contain fiber and polysaccharides that can promote a healthy gut microbiome by feeding beneficial bacteria and reducing inflammation. Bone Health: Certain mushrooms, particularly those exposed to sunlight or UV light, can be a good source of Vitamin D, which is crucial for calcium absorption and bone health.

What god is that? The one you just happened to be born in the right place to believe? How lucky for you! You must be extra smart.

I get if you don't like mushrooms, but what does "supposed to" mean in this context? The vast majority of people eating mushrooms will never suffer any ill effects.

Nah it's just an opinion. Don't take it too seriously.

Plant and animal species are constantly evolving and going extinct, and people really still believe some god planned them all out at one specific point in time?

I couldn't be more confused.

No such thing as god.

You're going with mushrooms and not any of the known and documented toxins that we consume recreationally? Mushrooms? The things that're safe and nutritious? Also they're not even plants, they wouldn't have been made with the plants.
