Ehh. I don't know. I know all of my family and close friends' birthdays and I have them stored in my phone in case I forget on the day. I think it's just courteous to tell them happy birthday without being told.

Don't get hurt if your colleagues forgot it.

it's a thing between you and your friends tbh

But.....I would not notice it's my birthday if other people would not remember....

Expect them to remember? I expect them to forget.

I'm in my 30's and I'm old enough now to know who won't remember and who will lol my brother consistently never remembers because he's always stoned. So usually a family member will remind him though he still usually doesn't even say anything to me on my birthday which sucks because I always get him something on his. I do drop the hint for people at work because I would never expect them to know and try to do something for everyone else as well. One coworker is really kind and usually keeps track and tries to get a little money for a card and small gift though for everyone.

If people actually cared about you, they'd remember your birthday. That's what phone calendars and reminders are for. Seems a little egotistical to tell everybody, Hey, it's my birthday! We're not 10.

I don't want to tell them my birthday. It makes me feel full of myself. I will tell, if asked, but not unprompted.
