Jeans do not deserve their popularity, amirite?

They are simple and versatile trousers that are easy to buy. That's why they are popular. Plenty of people don't care about style or wearing different outfits.

Maybe it's just me but buying jeans back then was so overwhelming because the same wash had different brands and I would end up having to try on 10 different pairs of jeans to find a decent one only to hate them after a few wears.

I'd recommend Levis honestly. They are quality but not ridiculously over priced designer jeans. They come in like 50 different sizes so you can find something to fit you and they look decent when they start to fade and wear.

Jeans aren't popular because of movies lol. They're popular because they're the most durable pants that you can wear, so they've always been the go to pants for blue collar workers. Name one material as durable and comfortable as denim that would hold up well in a physical workplace.

Canvas is a hell of a lot more durable, similarly comfortable, and every real labor job I've had used them for the uniform. jeans are a good mix, with the added bonus of being more stylish for daily activities i guess. But I've torn through the knees of countless jeans that I've never even worked in and would get torn to shreds with brushwork. I used to be a huge jeans guy so I do see where your coming from, but nowadays I just go for canvas for labor and slacks for office work / daily activities

I find them very comfortable, and I like great in them. If anyone else likes them or not has nothing to do with me. Also, good quality jeans last a long time compared to other pants, and are often needed for jobs where you need some protection on your legs.

To be fair, the majority of that water is used to grow the raw cotton. So whatever is made out of it is going to use a lot of water. It isn't just jeans.

I wear jeans because I find them comfortable and they're durable enough for my job. They're pretty pointless beyond fashion if you work a comfy desk job or something else that doesn't require your clothing to be durable.
