Valid take

thats also why godzilla was starting to break into little zillas at the end, evolving in the same way, community minded godzilla. the other shin movies are (in my opinion) also good, but all three of em are kinda like, the essence of the original distilled through annos lense. shin masked rider has some rad fight sequences and shin ultraman is a trip

I heard there's gonna be a sequel, but those other ones are different franchises. the director remade three of his favorite childhood ips. godzilla masked rider and ultraman.

Is the quality of the movie decided by the politics? I mean, it's not like it's hitting you over the head with a sledgehammer the whole time, which you could argue would ruin a movie. But this is about a big monster destroying things. I imagine that's what most people would get out of it. Doesn't mean you have to agree with the message, but is that the only deciding quality? Not the big monster action, which is what you go to the movie for? You didn't even mention the rest of the movie. Just the message.

I think the message a movie tells you is the point of making said movie so yes

That's a bizarre stance. It's not like we're watching a documentary. Who watches a Godzilla movie for the message? Yes, it has one, but who says "I want to watch this monster movie because I want to see a message about nuclear weapons"? They instead go to watch the monster destroy stuff and humans fighting it. That isn't to say the message isn't important in a movie, but the ONLY factor? That's nonsense.

I mean it isn't the only factor but when most of the screentime isn't dedicated to monsters fighting, but the bureaucracy plot then it is a large one

Is there a GOOD Godzilla movie?

Minus One was pretty great

Minus One is great. Probably the best Godzilla movie ever made IMO and a great movie in its own right.
