+56 Anti-bare feet culture is so annoying, amirite?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Besides it often bieng dangerous for oneself to walk barefoot especially in cities I don't see the problem. Bieng barefoot is generally way more healthy for your body and feet are just feet god dammit.

Most people's feet stink, it's not a neutral body part like an elbow

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Feet stink because people have them stuffed inside socks and shoes for the majority of the day. If you let them air out then they don't smell that much.

There are alot of reasons to not go barefoot in today's world. Chemicals, glass, and parasites just to name a few. There are also studies that have been done to explain where foot fetishes come from.

I think you might be over estimating the dangers.

They're just feet I agree lol but there are definitely places where being barefoot is gross. I know some people who won't even go barefoot in their house and always have to have socks and sometimes shoes on, and I find that a bit strange. I also think sleeping with socks on is kinda gross.

Well bruv you can always go back to that culture and go barefoot all over the place, I can't help being disgusted

by Anonymous 2 days ago

your disgust is your problem and your problem only, it's just a body part

Unless you expect to take your dirty ass bare feet into my house, then it is a you problem.

On the bright side you're to be envied if this is the kind of thing you concern yourself with.

Is it not less about the feet and what's on them?

by kihnrenee 2 days ago

Maybe people are reacting to your ugly feet?

by CertainAd1712 2 days ago

I think OP also means those pics and videos about people shoving their bare feet into other people's personal space.

People who think it's unusual to let a toddler play whilst barefoot at the park. Teenagers trying to show off to their mates by 'calling it out'.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Not that sort of park, a kiddie park (fenced off, no dogs are allowed in).

Feel free to be barefoot but if you walk around in the streets with nothing on your feet, you aren't walking into my place. We take our shoes off when we enter the place in order not to drag in the crap we step into. Can't take off your foot now can you?

by DepthGrand 2 days ago

If you live in that culture fine, by the sounds of it you don't any longer. Perhaps you need to adapt to that culture, instead of moaning that they don't do things that you were used to.

Feet are just feet for sure, but in some areas it is kinda strange to go bare, like in a gym, especially when they don't disinfect after. Also going around outside bare at least in cities is kinda nasty, not because they have bare feet, but because the ground is littered with all kinds of things, some you don't want to touch you, some can even hurt you if you are unlucky. At my home I like to go bare especially in the summer, it's just nicer, plus good for your feet to get some air, even more so for people who have shoes on inside.

I grew up in a culture where barefoot life is basically norm (NZ). I still find feet gross, barefoot isn't inherently bad only really when you live somewhere with nasty hygiene. But feet are jank ass parts of the body they look weird and I don't like them.

I get where you're coming from. Growing up in a similar barefoot-friendly environment, I've always seen feet as no big deal, just like hands or elbows. The disgust factor seems overblown, almost like a cultural hangover from prudish eras. That said, in urban settings with all the grime, I do slip on shoes for practicality.

My issue is foot stank. I'm usually bare foot in my own house tho.

The only place people should be bare foot is in their homes, gardens or the beach. Like I don't want to see your dogs when you're serving me my milkshake or when i'm walking at night.

Also fair at the beach or swimming pools

I live in the bronx and i saw a guy walking barefoot yesterday. its gross.

Those fungi need a moist environment to thrive. Like in closed shoes. People going barefoot or using sandals have a much lower chance of developing such an infection.

As a foot fetishist I agree 👍

by Anonymous 2 days ago

We don't need to see anyone's feet.

by Late-Library 2 days ago

i mean we dont need to see anyones face either

I let my toddler be barefoot as much as possible. All the time at home and also at the kiddie park. A lot of people end up with hip and joint problems from wearing stupid, clumsy shoes from the age of 1.

Way back in highschool I got a pedicure done for prom cause it was the thing to do and they sanded off ALL my calluses. I was so pissed. Almost 30 now and still not back
