How is this an unpopular opinion? It has been proven that a lot of depressed people mask their depression and go out for activities and generally practice in socialising. This is just a fact.

I would go further and say it's one of the best way not to feel lonely, by helping others. Stepping outside of ourselves really can help with depression, and also I think what more people should be aware of is how actually depression and other emotions are related to each other and impact each other, it all is rarely isolated and usually comes together

I talk with strangers regularly and am regularly reminded that while I get along easily with people, nobody really sees or understands me or cares to look under the surface. These exchanges end with them feeling pleased with my interaction and finding it perfectly normal, and me feeling lonelier than ever.

I mean... I can do that, but it's using my Customer Service Personality... not my real personality. So technically I can do it, but I'm so not genuine...
