When did likes or dislikes or personal taste become unpopular opinions? Lmao π Ps i also don't like dark chocolate much but a lot of people do
by Anonymous2 days ago
Since pineapple on pizza became a thing.
by Anonymous2 days ago
You confuse taste with opinion.
by Anonymous2 days ago
Yeah... you don't think opinions are not influenced by preferences and vice versa? Op doesnt like dark chocolate , taste/preference Op says dark chocolate shouldn't exist, opinion based on taste/preference.
by Anonymous2 days ago
"Dark chocolate should not exist because I don't like it" is hardly an opinion. Not much to discuss there really. An opinion is something you can reason about ("nobody should own more than one billion dollars, to reduce wealth inequality").
by Anonymous2 days ago
"People like you should be banned the internet beacuse i think your logic is idiotic" i don't actually think this, you're making a great argument and are making me second guess myself (i find it fun and educational at times)... But do you see how, if i did actually believe that then its an opinion based on my taste/preference. I provided a reason and that can be debated/discussed because objectively my reason is not a fact.

99% and 80% are a lot different though. 80% is incredible

Heard. Now take your choccy milk and Dino nuggies and enjoy your cartoon show.

I've had raw cacao before, so I guess 100%. Honestly nicer than high % dark chocolate for some reason. Regardless, it's great as hot chocolate and not that bad by itself. Sure it's a bit bitter but easier to eat than 90% dark chocolate imo; no idea why
by Demetriusmohr2 days ago
80% is perfect!
by FirmLingonberry2 days ago
Your personal tastes aren't "opinions" that need to be argued, or even revealed to the public. And "If I don't choose to engage with something, it shouldn't exist as a choice for anyone" is certainly a red flag...
by Anonymous2 days ago
That's what I was thinking haha, βI don't like bitter chocolate, so it shouldn't exist' is a crazy sentiment. I can't stand bananas, they're still good for you and they still make amazing banana bread.

by Anonymous1 day ago
"They should ban something that hundreds of millions of people like because I do not personally like it" is not an "unpopular opinion." It is an idiotic opinion, and should be treated as such.

Makes good brownies with it.

I consume 92% with very little sugar, 3g of sugar per 40g of the bar ππ
by Anonymous1 day ago
Lindt 90% is divine. I love it with my morning cup of coffee. Smooth, flavorful, and slightly sweet. Dark chocolate below 70% approaches junk to me these days. I'll do 60% if it's exotic. Trader Joe's has a variety pack during the holidays that plays around with that idea. Like, I enjoy standard candy bars every now and then but they serve a different purpose.
by Anonymous1 day ago
Yeah i think its gaslighting after a certain point
by Anonymous1 day ago
OP has the palate of a child
by Anonymous1 day ago
Some people really love bitterness.
by davisabdiel1 day ago
80 is nice balance, 99 is when I want the entire bar for myself, no one want to touch that except me lol.
by Anonymous1 day ago
For me, it's just a way to have chocolate without having so much sugar. I like how it melts in the mouth, super chocolatey. Of course, milk chocolate tastes better, but I don't want just a little bit, and if I eat too much I'll feel like crap. And milk chocolate makes my teeth feel fuzzy the rest of the day; so I don't like that. For me, 80-90% tastes pretty similar, so I'll just go to 90% to make it a smidge healthier. Now, I had 99% once too and it was disgusting, so I'm with you there. To be honest I don't even know what the percents mean, I just know that the label says it has practically no sugar.
by Anonymous1 day ago
Imagine thinking black coffee is bitter. Just admit you burn it dude.
by dannierodriguez1 day ago
Without milk and sugar you're just eating solidified bean paste
by BothGrapefruit1 day ago
Anything less than 50% is basically just brown vegetable oil
by Background-Office5621 day ago
My understanding is that 70%+ chocolate does have several health benefits. Regardless it is at least a healthier alternative to people who really love chocolate, but should be staying away from Milk chocolate.
by Anonymous1 day ago
High % dark chocolates are good for baking purposes.
by Anonymous1 day ago
You aren't meant to eat lots of it. It's meant to either be used in cooking or savoured a very small amount at a time.
by Anonymous1 day ago
It's not for the sake of being bitter. It's extremely healthy.
by Anonymous1 day ago
"I personally don't like this thing so it should not exist at all"
by Accurate_Garbage1 day ago
I'm a freak, I really like it. If you compare the two dark chocolate is the healthier alternative. Dark chocolate contains less sugar and no milk while having much more cacao. The high percentage of cacao creates certain benefits from consuming dark chocolate.
by Sensitive_Use56461 day ago
I like it.
by No-Row1 day ago
I normally have 90% but 80% is the perfect balance in my opinion. I cant stand milk chocolate.
by LawfulnessFunny1 day ago
No place in the human palate? This is literally a delicacy made by humans for human mouths.
by Virtual_Life1 day ago
Ever had cocoa nibs? I'm one of those βpicky about textures' people, but I also get fixated on certain textures and for a while cocoa nibs were my obsession. Bitterness be damned, they had such a perfect texture. Anyway now 80% dark chocolate doesn't even phase me. I need it to be at least that dark to get the bitterness I crave. 90% is kind of pushing it imo but I still wouldn't say it shouldn't exist.
by Louisa241 day ago
80% is my favorite! I don't like 95% and up by itself BUT if you spread some peanut butter on it, it can be pretty good
by Anonymous1 day ago
85% is my go-to. How many brands of 80%+ chocolate have you tried? Admittedly some taste horrible but if you get a quality chocolate it's the best imho. I think brands like Lindt are horrible in this range, but single-farm origin bars tends to be incredible at 80%+, in the UK I think Green & Black is great at 85%. That said, I have yet to enjoy a 99% bar.
by Ok_Virus1 day ago
You do know that you don't have to eat such chocolate straight up, right? While some people do enjoy it out of hand, most such chocolate is made for baking with.
by Resident_Tale_40141 day ago
I love 99% chocolate
by Helpful_Shop1 day ago
Eh, as someone who doesn't like dark chocolate I can see how someone could like it as an acquired taste. I have tried all varieties of chocolate and 80% is imho no more or less unpleasant than drinking black coffee.
by Anonymous1 day ago
I could say same thing about cilantro, beer (especially high bitter scale (idk what's it called) IPAs) and coffee. Who cares?
by ZookeepergamePlus1 day ago
Me, laughing at this opinion eating raw cocoa.
by Anonymous1 day ago
I'm dairy free. I want chocolate i can eat
by Both_Range25941 day ago
So it shouldn't exist just because you don't like it?
by DullClock14501 day ago
Great in baking
by Anonymous1 day ago
The bitter flavor is what a lot of dark chocolate enthusiasts are in to. Luckily for everyone else, the hardcore dark chocolate is usually relegated to a very small section, with plenty of other chocolate options.
by Anonymous1 day ago
It takes some getting used to, especially if you're addicted to sugar which a lot of people are. Over time you can learn to appreciate dark chocolate. It also depends on the brand. Lindt 90% is not bad although kinda expensive. I've had high cocoa chocolate from some brands that tastes awful. My absolute favourite is Beryl's 99% which is sugar free Malaysian chocolate. It's literally the best mass market chocolate in the world for me.
by Anonymous1 day ago
80% dark chocolate with sea salt, perfection!
by Anonymous1 day ago
Shouldn't exist? Weirdo
by alfreda501 day ago

by Anonymous1 day ago
My dad always used to claim to love 99% cocoa chocolate, and the spiciest curry the Indian restaurant could make. I am convinced he was making it up and suffering the entire time he was eating those things
by Anonymous1 day ago
Agreed. Spicy is still fun because it's usually with other spices that makes it flavourful. 99% cocoa is just bitter, nothing else.
by Anonymous1 day ago
It's nice to cook with so you can control the sweetness. I agree though.
by Jayden291 day ago
And people will swear they love it π "you just haven't found the right kind"
by Anonymous1 day ago
No, most people who like it don't care that you don't. Eat your sweet chocolate. I don't care.
by CatUnique22041 day ago
I do love it tho
by Front_Grade1 day ago
The bitter stuff is for baking lol you don't eat it bitter hahahaa You add sugar to a baked good separately so a higher grade of chocolate is used
