+65 Being a morning person sucks, amirite?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I am an introverted morning person and it's fabulous!

by willard25 2 days ago

Right, being alone is the best part about being a morning person!

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yes, my day is just not the same without my morning.

by Glum_Ad_2373 2 days ago

Each paragraph is totally disconnected from the preceding paragraph 😅😂 what's the correlation between mornings and Wednesdays ? Either that or my comprehension skills sucks ass ( I am not a native English speaker 🫠)

by Anonymous 2 days ago

You totally missed his point: the actual unpopular opinion is that writing coherence is overrated and unnecessary.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

And liking Mondays because they're excited to go to work? Insane take, but also not related to being a morning person, so I'm baffled

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Ahh I got it now. And the Wednesday/ Monday example was an analogy ig ?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Okay but did you know OP was born on a monday morning?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

You're good haha. I see I poorly wrote out my opinion and native English speakers are confused by it

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I can assure you, it's not just native English speakers that are confused.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Most people hate mornings cause of their jobs. Night is when it's time to relax.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

If they love Mondays then maybe they can't stand the weekend. I know a few people who have been married a long time who can't stand going home.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Realizing I didn't want to go home because it meant being around my then wife is what made me realize we needed to split up

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Im glad you realized that. I couldn't imagine not wanting to be at home because my wife is there. She's a large part of why I want to be there

by alphonso98 2 days ago

Depends on how you classify a morning person. I know plenty of people who would prefer not to be awake until 10 AM. Regardless of a job they just don't enjoy being up early. I enjoy being up early, although my body tends to disagree. I started a job that starts at 6 AM now. It's nice to be up and have most of the work day done by 12. Also awesome to wake up at 6 or 7 on a weekend and have that much more time to get everything done and enjoy the day

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Look at mister fancy pants and his sleeping until 6am on the weekends. Why are you so lazy? You should keep the momentum from the week going get the chores done early.

by Savings_Scene 2 days ago

Man I don't even remember what it's like to wake up and it's light outside sleeping till 8-830 would be a miracle. I just keep the same schedule all week 830 bed 330 wake up. I don't start work until 630 but with daily chores drive time and morning walks it's pretty full. Yep can't do the outside stuff that early but you can do the inside stuff then just chill until it's time for the outside things then you have the rest of the day.

by Savings_Scene 2 days ago

But you dont have more time because you have to go to bed earlier. Youre done at noon but no one else is and you have to go to bed super early when all the fun is happening. I have had way way way more fun during the late hours than I have during the morning hours. No idea why I like my early job so much. I still cannot go to bed earlier, though, so i just get by on less sleep (i never feel more rested when I sleep 7 or 8 hours anyway). I couldn't imagine liking mornings more and missing out on the evening. Kudos to you guys.

by Imaginary_Abies 2 days ago

I got to sleep at the same time no matter what though is the catch. 5 am? 12:30 sleep. 10 am? 12:30 sleep.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Ah. Same. Even more impressive that you enjoy the mornings lol.

by Imaginary_Abies 2 days ago

I don't understand the logic of the last sentence. if you go to bed at 8 pm and wake up at 4 am, you have 16 hours to get everything done. If I go to bed at 2 am and wake up at 10 am, I also have 16 hours to get everything done. Waking up early doesn't give you more time in the day.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I got to sleep at 12 and wake up at 6 though

by Anonymous 2 days ago

not more hours but usually more sunlight hours! which is helpful for those of us who can't see in the dark anymore :( and more time during business hours

by CockroachCold9594 2 days ago

Where I am, the stores open at 5 am are the same ones open at midnight, and most stores are open 10 am to between 7 pm and 10 pm, so that is kind of a moot point. I can't see in the dark and need more sunlight is a very specific edge case.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

The real secret Big Night doesn't want you to know is it's actually VERY satisfying to wake up super super early. Like getting up at 5am lets you do some hobbies and chores before work, when you actually have energy. I used to think I was a night owl until I started waking up at 6am (early relative to when my job starts) to feed my dog and then just staying awake instead of going to bed. You also get a nice buffer in case you wake up tired. I could sleep in up to 1.5 hours if needed.

by Important_Code8127 2 days ago

Not everyone "actually has energy" in the morning though. I have more energy in the evenings.

by Some_Recording 2 days ago

yep!! I tend to be much more productive at night. I feel like I'm missing half of my brain in the AM, which sucks bc i work a 7-3 lol

by Schadeneriberto 2 days ago

I feel like when I work 9-5 I'm just warming up by the afternoon haha

by Some_Recording 2 days ago

Nuh uh

by Important_Code8127 2 days ago

Ya ha!

by Some_Recording 2 days ago

I cannot enjoy anything as much when work is just around the corner. It feels like I am on call and cannot fully commit to enjoyment. It pales in comparison to the freedom of knowing the work day is behind me and the rest of the day is mine to enjoy and stay up late.

by Imaginary_Abies 2 days ago

"Excited for the work week" Wha- whe- where r u from, which planet?

by Cute_Personality_134 2 days ago

I see I'm consistent with my unpopular opinions haha

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I share this view. I really had to train my mind to like it though, but now I like mondays. I see it as a fresh chapter, and unwritten page !

by Anonymous 2 days ago

So I'm a nightowl who aggressively agrees, but it's worth saying the business world is morning oriented. Social life is generally evening and night oriented. If OP's lonely, that makes sense. If people are up early, it's to get ready for work, not bond.

by Useful-Process-849 2 days ago

I actually complain often about the odd office day when I'm expected to fit more into what I consider to not be a morning-person-friendly 9-5. Waking up at 3am and waiting for hours to start work, and then hitting a wall at 2-3pm and needing to grind out another few hours? Horrible. WFH has been a dream. Start by 6am, finished by 2pm.

by Quiet-Crow 2 days ago

Let's revisit this conversation on the evening when you're happy

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I'm just highlighting a different perspective to show how being a morning person isn't that bad.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Marshy is totally right. Everything revolves around morning times and early risers. In an ideal world, I'd work from 10 to 7 instead of 8 to 5. I literally don't function well before 10, but I have to be up, have the baby ready, and at daycare by 7:30, just to drive very sleep to work. So dumb. Let me sleep!!

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What does being a morning person have to do with Wednesdays? Other days have mornings too. I'm confused.

by LifeEstablishment764 1 day ago

I think Wednesday was the example lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That's what I don't get either

by Beautiful-Trip-6258 1 day ago

The isolation is my favorite part of being a morning person

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That's exactly WHY mornings are so awesome… all the peace and quiet, feeling like you've got the world to yourself (and your dogs) etc

by Turbulent_Pen753 1 day ago

You know what, I'm gonna start to hate Wednesday in particular now because of this

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Sounds like you just really like your job?? Funny enough I enjoy Mondays because I'm excited for the work week. I mean I do not mind my job but I do not think I would ever say I was "excited for the work week" lol. But good for you I guess, if you are excited for work you will probably be much happier than most people.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Oh I've noticed haha. I'm in sales and literally the only way to have longevity in it is to enjoy the grind. Yea it is stressful but hey it is what it is and keep going. Easier said than done of course

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What does being a morning person have to do with the days of the week? Everyday has a morning. Also, most people don't like Mondays because that's the start of the work week.

by AdCivil2146 1 day ago

I guess OP loves their job?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Which, while great, isn't at all related to being a morning person.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What a weirdo.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Must be pretty mint, though.

by lamarstoltenber 1 day ago

That's the real unpopular opinion.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I don't just hate Wednesday because I have to get up early I also hate being at work. Even if I enjoyed the morning I would still not like Monday - Friday

by AvailableElk7503 1 day ago

Up at 5 automatically every day. And I don't even work until 8 usually. It's great, especially on the weekend. You get most of what you need to get done before anybody's awake

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm a morning person I wake up with the sun lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah I like being a morning person . I get some time in the morning to myself.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I am an extraverted night owl and sleep until noon. I lose half my day. I'd love to be asleep by ten and up at six. Alas.

by Pretty_Hospital_796 1 day ago

Why does it suck? You start work in the morning, don't you? So that works for you...combined with the fact that you look forward to the working week...if anything, it sucks not to be a morning person (unless you work night shift...and that comes with other issues; nothing is open, you can't socialise normally, you miss out on events etc.). Then it sucks harder when you don't actually look forward to the working week because you'd rather be home with your kids or just doing anything else. So...being a morning person in a world that's tailored towards 8-4 or 9-5 seems...ideal. What's the complaint again?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

What does enjoying mondays and Wednesdays have to do with being a morning person?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Non morning people are missing out. The days feel longer when you wake up early, and in my opinion you feel more refreshed throughout the day. I worked nights for a bit and naturally started waking up/sleeping later than normal, and I felt awful the entire time. Just got back into waking up early and I don't think I could go back

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Just wake up even earlier. My mom gets up at 3 lol

by Important_Code8127 1 day ago

That's when I go to bed lol

by AvailableElk7503 1 day ago

😭😭😭

by Important_Code8127 1 day ago

Not for me. Doesn't matter when or how long I sleep. My body will not wake up and be fully functional until after 11 AM. Doesn't matter if I wake up at 5 AM for 3 years straight and sleep for 8 hours. If I wake up at 5 or 6 in the morning im groggy and tired and will be for most of the day. If I sleep for 4 hours and wake up at 11 am or after? Im well rested and ready to go. My body also has a natural sleep cycle of about 3 or 4 hours and then once every few weeks I have to sleep for about 16 hours and then it resets. My body is naturally active during night hours. I. Awake and full of energy at 1 AM regardless of what time I slept or not. I have to make myself go to sleep at night which isn't hard since im also the type that can go to sleep at any point in time if I want to. Doesn't matter how much sleep I got or anything. If I want to sleep, my body will sleep. Some people are not morning people and their bodies do not let them be.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah why would I react to things I've been told to my face for decades like they'd been told to my face for decades

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Sounds like you're already wallowing a bit. You do you though

by Bubbly_Delivery9888 1 day ago

Sounds like I just chose to ruin my prefrontal cortex when I could instead have chosen to be a morning person so I won't be missing out, yup :)

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Chin up buckaroo!!! We'll all be dead, nice and soon!!!!

by Bubbly_Delivery9888 1 day ago

Could have been cool to be alive in the meantime.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Have it your way Aurora

by Bubbly_Delivery9888 1 day ago

Sounds good

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Maybe you need to join a running club or something. Spend more time with people who have the same feelings.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

i like to wake up early but i am also an insomniac unfortunately so i only get to wake up early if i actually sleep decently without waking up multiple times in the night :/

by Dangerous-Union 1 day ago

Idk it kinda sounds like your job can be enjoyable for you. That itself sets you apart from most people and how they view Mondays and Wednesdays

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Man, sure it sucks that the entire world is catered towards being a morning person with almost all public & private businesses only open during daylight hours. /s

by Anonymous 1 day ago

You should move to Australia haha. Plenty of morning people here.

by Total_Support_3279 1 day ago

I love the night because everything is quiet and the other people are asleep so no one wants something from me and I can relax. Mornings are so rushed and it's the worst time to have to rush! I'm half asleep for the first hour after I wake up.

by Some_Recording 1 day ago

I am a morning person and the isolation is part of why I like it. As a huge extrovert I rarely get time for myself. Which is great, for me anyway, but I think the reason I can be this way is because I get up at 5 or 6 every day and enjoy my own company in the morning. Have coffee, do my hair and makeup, scroll the internet, etc and do it all with ZERO rush. Starting the day peacefully before the chaos of my job really helps me. Don't tell people how nice mornings can be! It's a secret!! 🤫

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I don't mind Mondays. I like my job. ☺️ I always say I'm a night owl with kids and a job in a school. I also bartend so I'm all over the place. I am learning to not hate mornings so much at 50 but I would still rather be up late than get up early.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Are you really a morning person? Or are you just happy? Most people aren't happy.

by Embarrassed_Wind_514 1 day ago

I'm a morning person because I like waking up and having time to myself before the family wakes up. Working out. Watching a movie. Have a coffee outside. Lots of things to enjoy on my own before the chaos of the day starts.

by Willard04 1 day ago

are you a serial killer?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This has nothing to do with being a morning person. I love early mornings. It is a fresh start, nice and quiet(until the kids get up), theres coffee. Nothing to worry about. I despise Tuesday. Doesn't matter what time of day it is.

by sandy81 1 day ago

I'm a morning person. I'm around, but how do you find me 🤷‍♂️ I also work from home (unfortunately, in this case, I love the early coffee and commute), enjoy my job, and don't live in a city to even know if people at a coffee shop would chat. I say the last part because it's like the introverts and non-drunks at the bar. To find those people, you need to talk to the most miserable looking alone people at the bar. I feel like you need to find the happiest looking person in a morning-themed place lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

More people are morning larks than night owls. People just hate going to work.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

MORNINGS ARE FOR ME!!! I love my morning time (4 am to 11) my version of morning. And I hate being up late cause my body feels sick and tired all night unless I sleep. Morning people need more representation cause you're right. I'm isolated.

by Optimal_Courage 1 day ago

You find being alone with no one to talk to a bad thing? Being awake when no one is available to talk to me is the best part of my day. It's the talking that sends it all downhill.

by Buckkuhic 1 day ago

I enjoy driving into work before the traffic is bad, being the first person in the office, and leaving before rush hour. Even grocery shopping at 5:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning has it's perks.

by Chemical-Flan-539 1 day ago

Bro i just dont think ill ever be able to enjoy going to work enough, let alone waking up early for work, to have the same mindset as you. Like im happy when i leave work, but i dont think ive ever had a day where i was excited to work but then again ive only worked 9 years and maybe it gets better :')

by Brilliant_Jeweler818 1 day ago

I am up at the ass-crack of dawn every day. I am usually out walking by 6 AM. There are few things more gorgeous in life than being alone on a cool morning. I don't give a rat's ass about the drug-addicted trolls around me who grumble and hiss until they've had their morning caffeine fix.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Oh no, the whole world revolves around your schedule…the horror…

by Anonymous 1 day ago

i start work at 4:30am i get up at 3:45 on days i don't work im still typically up by 6 i love it so much my days feel twice as long

by Straight-Command 1 day ago

Monday is actually my favorite day of the week so I resonate with your words.

by Significant-Yak-6685 1 day ago

I'm not a morning person lol doesnt seem to matter what time I go to bed, if I have to wake up early, I'm gonna be exhausted, I don't make the rules. Also… I promise you, that whatever chores or whatever you think you're having more time to get done in the morning before work, I have that time too, my time is just shifted forward lol like I still wake up a few hours before I go to work… I just don't get up at 5/6 am like a nerd lol on that same note, I'd like to add that people often say they're more productive in the mornings, I promise you, I'm NOT more productive that early in the morning. I'm a freaking zombie until like noon. Also, my productivity level doesnt really change depending on the time of day. Even if I get home from work at like midnight, I'm prolly gonna be awake till like 4 am. Whatever I would have done after work at 4/5 pm, I'll still do at midnight (either way I'm prolly just coming home and watching tv/playing video games/working on some project). I think what a lot of morning/day people don't understand is that night people live the same lives as day people, we just live them at a different time lol I feel like most day people think, but aren't you tired that late at night? No? Cuz I slept in till noon lol I'm still getting my 7-8 hrs, I just get em from 4-12. You're only tired that late at night because by then, you'd have been awake for over 16 hours, which is like, the limit for most people. And then you have people who talk about like, going to the store or running errands or appointments. Do those on my days off, and I do them in the afternoon, and honestly I don't even go to the store, I have stuff delivered to my house, so I can order groceries the night before, and have them delivered before I go to work the next day. Or if I'm off that day, have em delivered in the afternoon/evening whenever I'll be home. Honestly, the only real annoying thing about being a night person is that after like 10 pm, if you want to order food/get food, your options are like, Taco Bell and pizza places lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It feels like most people are not morning people so it feels isolating Exactly, being a morning person rules!

by Spirited_Opening_208 1 day ago

The world revolves around their circadian rhythm and they still aren't happy about it. Anyway, try hitting up an Einstein Bros at 5am and talk to your fellows about the weather or something. I don't know what you morning people do at that ungodly hour, so don't ask me lol

by Routine-Reason3458 1 day ago

I love being left alone in the morning. It's the most productive part of my day before people start talking to me.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Those who are morning people tend to have mental heatlh issues. Its no surprise :)

by Appropriate_War_2353 1 day ago

I just get to and go to work as I have a flexible environment to get in and start working and then I can do early

by Anonymous 1 day ago

what?! The whole world is built around morning people. I'd rather not even wake up until 8-9 am and instead I'm already starting my work day because that's the culture. It sucks.

by Extra-Performer 1 day ago

I like to get up early to do chores or shopping, but so many stores don't open until 10 or 11, even later on weekends. 11 is the middle of the afternoon for me!

by Adept_Biscotti 1 day ago

I wish I was a morning person. The idea of waking up as the sun rises & starting my day strong is something I strive to do. It's the best feeling IMO, and the best way to set yourself up for a good day. I can do it every so often but I really have to force myself into it.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It depends on the job I have but for some jobs, I woke up very early and got to work before anybody else did and it was worth it to be able to get work done without everyone else's distractions.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm a morning person and it would be great, but I've got roommates who I don't want to disturb. If I lived alone it would be great. Only downside is sometimes having to wait for stores to open on the weekends if you just want to get errands over with early.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Go to the gym at 5am and you'll find your people.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Hahah you're totally right. That seems like a good hangout spot for morning people

by Anonymous 1 day ago
