I've seen this term used on instagram and it's usually by men describing themselves. I don't think it's meant to be offensive, if you hear women use it it's probably because they don't care about height and they're trying to highlight that. Also if you're considered "short" for a guy you effectively know this already. It's like when overweight people refer to themselves as "chubby" or "fat" they're not blind, they're self aware.

i'm ngl i've only ever heard men referring to other men as short kings. or men saying it about themselves. most women don't care if men are short , we just wanna date men that are taller than us, even if it's by 1 inch
