This isn't even good bait

Can you prove in an objective manner they're good ?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

In a way that will satisfy your clearly but hurt opinion? No. But here's a try: the movies have genuinely great action, they are anchored by likeable characters with good chemistry and fun power sets. They are antagonized by a dis likeable villain. It follows the expected action hero tropes very well, while adding the unique aspect of a hero team up which outside of marvel has not existed prior, and has not been done well by others that have tried. The writing while not Shakespeare is solid for what they are trying to accomplish, which is a tense set up of bad guys and good guys. Every measurable criteria of "action super hero movie" is met at worse adequately, or in some categories (action, power sets, chemistry, good villain) are well above average. It is very ok to dislike something that otherwise hits a lot of check boxes. I, for example, have a really hard time enjoying Quintin Terintino, I would never be caught saying he is a bad film maker or a bad writer. I don't like his writing, but his writing is objectively not bad.

Ok. We disagree, but you just saying "there aren't objective criteria" doesn't make it so. A basic plot is not a bad plot. You are again conflating "I don't like" with bad. And the fact you didn't actually address any of my points tells me enough. Good chat though.

What was forced about endgame? It was basically "Payoff: The Movie".

This guy gets it

The movie was full of Fan service but the difference is that the MCU made it work and it was actually enjoyable.

This isn't an unpopular opinion, it is factually incorrect.

by Wonderful_Jaguar2003 2 days ago

It is not. The marvel franchise is generally filmed with a ridiculous amount of cg and lacks essence, that even many dc films have . Mcu films are 1 hour of action and five minutes of plot. The only factually incorrect thing is calling an opinion incorrect

DC films are garbo

Hey, yk War of the worlds 2025 is quite the financial success right ?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Hey, its unpopular opinions, not based opinions.

Popular does not equal quality.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

But your argument is literally "it's popular so it's good and you're wrong" Turn on your brain 😅

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Success is synonym of quality to you? Yikes.

by Longjumping-Size8932 1 day ago

Nah, that would be all.

by Longjumping-Size8932 1 day ago

Success isn't in a synonym for quality But success is a synonym for landing If it didn't land, it wouldn't have made any money Artistic Quality has nothing to do with that.

The individual character films weren't that good with a few exceptions. Iron man 1 was a great movie, and a good set up. 2 and 3 were bad movies. Thor 1, 2, 3, and 4 were bad movies, with 3 being the better of the bad movies. Cap 1 was bad, but 2 and 3 were fantastic. Sebastian Stan really needs his own movie. The first avengers movie was good, but I personally like age of ultron way better. Infinity war set up 10 years worth of story telling to an epic conclusion. Endgame was the perfect ending to those 10 years.

When I think of a film that "didn't land" I also think of a film that was so widely acclaimed that every other studio and publisher has been desperate to recreate its success. Maybe when you have more to your personality than being a contrarian you'll get that

I think the MCU had a dark age after Endgame but they've always had bad movies and good movies. The problem is that Endgame actually felt like a conclusion but the MCU still continued, and it tanked for a while because of so many iconic characters being killed off.

by cwuckert 1 day ago

I agree with this. I have seen each avengers movie once of my own accord (lol). I don't want to see them again. Didn't get the Endgame hype at all. I really loved Winter Soldier and I kept waiting for that type of movie again. Sigh.

Civil war is the best marvel movie. The infinity war movies suck

I'll raise you. They were just always bad.
