Offline this isn't an unpopular opinion. The internet it just a giant ad nowadays and influencers get what's popular to keep up images and aesthetics. Most people just can't afford to consume at that extreme or don't care to.

Some people just enjoy being part of something bigger, taking part in something that lots of other people are so they can be part of a mass shared experience I mean I agree with you in general but I think you're being too harsh, if people like following trends so what let them have their fun

So many "flash in the pan" products seen last few years. So much crap pushed by social media accounts

Who said it was? Who even said that the goal was to buy something "good"? It makes perfect sense to buy something popular if your goal is to have a popular item at the time when it's popular. This is all of fashion? Sure some brands are good in the sense that they have high quality, durability etc but outside of clothes that fill a specifik need many want something they think is pretty and pretty may be what is popular at the moment.

I can only really speak of what I know: films. Popular films are sometimes garbage, sometimes not. Unpopular films are sometimes garbage, sometimes not. This is my insight, my clairvoyance that I pass unto you. Thank you for your attention.
