+103 I hate Costco, amirite?

by Outrageous_Skirt5250 2 days ago

the yearly membership is $60 USD… it sounds like you don't benefit from costco so just idk don't go?

by Neither_Ad_4035 2 days ago

Yeah exactly, I don't get the whole it takes $3,000 to break even part

by Kind-Visual 2 days ago

2% of $3000 is $60 and the membership, except that it's $130 for executive membership. I think that's what they mean. Since Costco is my primary grocery store and I do with clothes and definitely socks for all of us. Costco does well by me and I do get the annual rebate. They absolutely have some stuff at all times I think OP just doesn't like Costco.

by Low_Couple6683 2 days ago

The gas covers the membership and 4% cash back.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Gas is usually 10-15 cent cheaper and will cover the membership, the card makes it even better.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

ahh i forget about the rebate. hard for me to get it w only a 2 person household but i have the executive membership since they started the early hours for executive members that's worth it for me haha

by Neither_Ad_4035 2 days ago

My wife quotes this same absurd stat...they're referencing the 2% cash back perk and the amount you'd need to spend to literally get your membership fee back in cash. No regard for savings. Insane, I know.

by Kiel79 2 days ago

I spend 3k there easily every 2-3 months, no worries.

by aarondenesik 2 days ago

Executive membership was $120, im pretty sure its more now which gets you 2% back on your purchases. $3k isnt breakeven, its when you pay less for an executive membership then you would for the normal 60, and at $6k spent, that 2% back is $120 which is the actual breakeven point

by Shoddy_Flan_8707 2 days ago

You get 5% back on Costco gas.

by No-Battle-2258 2 days ago

If you shoplift you break even faster

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Good luck getting past the brutes at the exit checkpoint.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Just push past them

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Youre gonna get a highlighter to the face!

by Available_Spirit_237 2 days ago

The yearly membership is made up with cheaper gas alone

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yeah I wish more people hated Costco so I can go and shop in peace :p

by Mohammed48 2 days ago

Over exaggerating for sure but I think i agree with him that paying to shop is pretty ridiculous. And then there's the adage that says if you spent more than you were going to or needed to for saving your still overspending.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

The pay to shop is how things are so cheap at wholesale though, know membership and the stores like Costco wouldn't exist cause they wouldn't be profitable

by Actual_Bake2581 2 days ago

Costco is profitable due to membership fees

by shyannlueilwitz 2 days ago

That's exactly my point. No fees no Costco

by Actual_Bake2581 2 days ago

You're not paying to shop. You're paying for access to either items you can't get anywhere else or items in larger quantities that are less expensive in bulk.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I mean that literally is paying to shop. It's not a terrible thing, but it is real.

by Brandonvandervo 2 days ago

It's all relative. We just costco for specific things toilet paper, towels, waters (those add up) and a few other items. meat and fish asre some of the cheapest and we freeze the extra. Anyway it's not our primary store. We end up with about $200 back in the end of year so it pays for itself, not even factoring in the savings on items…

by Anonymous 2 days ago

sure and i can see that but if you know your shopping needs and costco won't fit that then no need to get the membership. its not for everyone for sure. i def do overspend when i go there w out a plan of what i need. i can usually get by w $100 a month w a solid plan. when i was in my parents house still costco was amazing for a family of 6. i go a lot less now that its just me and my boyfriend im shopping for but there are certain things i will always go to costco for.

by Neither_Ad_4035 2 days ago

The whole place makes you pay to be able to shop and the math comes out to like $3000 a year just to break even on the membership. I had already saved the $65 membership fee after buying two pairs of pants there.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yeah, it's the same with Sam's. If you actually take into account the savings as well, then it's well worth it.

by Pale_Sale 2 days ago

OP is bad at math, apparently

by wwunsch 2 days ago

Only thing I dislike about Costco is they need to catch up with scan&go

by quentin31 2 days ago

You def don't have to unload your cart. Just use the handheld scanner at the register. Total life saver especially since they don't really provide bags/boxes

by Anonymous 2 days ago

True but their checkout process is still pretty quick. I never have to wait more than a few minutes to get through even when it's nuts inside

by Paucekanabelle 2 days ago

I was dead last on line, like back of the store almost touching the wall last. I was at my car in less than 10 minutes packing my stuff. They're super efficient.

by Disastrous-Rope 2 days ago

they never have the same things twice There are quite a few products I've been buying there for many years, exactly the same. Popcorn, coffee, paper towels, etc.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

The center of the store is seasonal items that turn over frequently, same as at Sam's. Otherwise there are store brand and national brand products you can count on being there.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

They open too late and close too early.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

A while back, my partner and I were there late on a Saturday. Noticed it was oddly not mobbed. On our way out (6:45pm), we found out they'd been closed since 6. We had no idea, what major retailer closes at 6 on a Saturday?

by Mindless-Army-7419 2 days ago

Employees have lives and families. That's the legit reason why they close early on the weekends. Nothing wrong with that

by Anonymous 2 days ago

They have closed at 6 pm for decades……..they use this time for cleaning and restocking. They also have the policy of reorganizing the store to promoted product viewing. And you didn't know??

by Anonymous 2 days ago

None, they're a wholesaler not a retailer.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

This, I agree with 💯

by Pretend-Library 2 days ago

Love that Sam's Club opens at 8am on Saturdays for plus members. I miss a few things about shopping at Costco but overall prefer Sam's Club.

by TruthApprehensive984 2 days ago

Used to belong to Sam's. I felt like a lot of their stuff "Great Value" brand or whatever was just their Walmart stuff just in larger quantities. Having been at Costco for over 10 years now, there are so many items whether Kirkland brand or national brands that I am hooked on, I wouldn't think of going back to Sam's.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Now this I can agree with. I don't want to wait til 10am gall dang it

by Amelie82 2 days ago

This one is bad but not even close to the "Dominos is better than a neighborhood pizza shop, trust me I'm from the Northeast" take that was up here a few days ago. Still can't believe that was typed in good faith.

by rupertparker 2 days ago

I get where that OP was coming from. The ceiling on Domino's is low but the floor is very okay and consistent. The independent shop's ceiling is very high but the floor could be inedible

by gerdastoltenber 2 days ago

Someone got Dominos at work the other day. I hadn't Dominos in about 20 years. I was surprised at how good it was. It was delicious, frankly.

by halle24 2 days ago

People wildly misrepresented that take. OP wasn't saying that Domino's is better than every single independent shop. I have an incredible pizza place in the neighborhood. Fantastic. It's 10 min away. I have another place literally 30 seconds away. We ordered once and never again. Inedible. Domino's will always be "fine". I agree with that take.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Also being from the northeast but not even acknowledging that there are multiple styles of pizza from the region. Dude was prob from like rural Maine.

by Purple_Friend4365 2 days ago

I live in rural NC out in the country. There are 5 "local" or neighborhood mom and pop pizza shops that are better than Dominos within a 15 mile radius of me. Dominos is good, not knocking it. For the price and quickness it's a winner and we get it a lot when we're in a hurry. But that was an absurd take. LOL

by rupertparker 2 days ago

Their neighborhood pizza shop must've sucked.

by lehnerglen 2 days ago

That one HAD to be rage bait. I refuse to believe it was real

by Actual_Bake2581 2 days ago

Dominos is fire! $12 for two pizzas - choice of thin crust, deep dish, or hand tossed. And don't get me started on those bread bites!

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Dominos is perfectly fine. It's my go to for a quick dinner. It is not however better than a real neighborhood pizza place. Come on now.

by rupertparker 2 days ago

Our Costco is too popular—so I fully support you having this opinion and would like more people to share it.

by faheyearline 2 days ago

I share it. People love to pretend Costco is their little corpo friend. They are the 3rd largest retailer is America, people. They are constantly worsening their product to squeeze more value out of their members. For example, raising membership cost, making you scan in, executive only hours, refusing to adopt 21st century tech standards. Plus going there feels like being herded by cattle. Like scan in #246725, we will scan you again at checkout and compare your face with the picture on your papers. I have a joke that it's like going thru TSA twice just to check out a tub of mayo.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Those hot dogs though.....and still only $1.50

by Anonymous 2 days ago

They operate at a loss for the chicken, pizza, and hot dogs to get you in the door. The founder told the CEO he would kill him if ever raised the price of the hot dog lol.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

After the founder told the CEO this, they built two hotdog plants in order to keep the cost low enough.

by Best-Trainer-8735 2 days ago

With a drink

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Yep, the two of us cover cost of membership by June on hot dog lunches alone.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Damn, your poor stomach.

by bergstromholden 1 day ago

I know right, eating food and all. It's crazy.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

All food is exactly the same and there's no difference between healthy food and food that's awful for you. Absolutely none.

by ExoticSeason 1 day ago

Cool story, bro. Nobody is forcing you to shop there.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I also hate Costco.

by No_Speaker2637 1 day ago

Costco is basically Kramer's spirit animal: too much of everything, bought on impulse, and somehow turning into a storyline of chaos.

by Appropriate-Coach 1 day ago

I really hate how you're supposed to be there to save money and my grocery bill is bigger than ever because I have to buy a tub of something instead of a reasonable amount Oh and fresh produce is generally not a good deal at Costco so I still have to go somewhere else to get that If I had a mormon gaggle of children I'd understand going to costco but my family of 3 is fine without it I will admit their meat department is pretty dope for your average family

by Majestic-Mind 1 day ago

Bill is bigger, but trips are less frequent. I wholly agree on the produce. They stock significantly more than they sell and don't rotate it as frequently as they should. Honestly, just by myself, I save enough on frozen brocoli in a year to pay for the membership. The meat is a great deal, too, and the six packs are convenient, so I don't need to repack anything. For sure, I go to Aldi or other grocery stores for fresh produce, though. Costco can't realistically supply that for an individual family.

by Select_Actuary 1 day ago

Personally, when it comes to staple items I don't find it to be an impractical amount and yet we're only a family of two (four if you count the giant dogs). Yogurt, frozen berries, flour, eggs, ground beef, etc, things that you use most days. Maybe we just have a really limited rotation of foods, maybe we have huge appetites, but I rarely find Costco items to be "too much".

by Evening-Loquat-6956 1 day ago

The fresh produce is maybe more but it's also the only grocery near me where the produce doesn't look like it's been left in the sun for 3 days.

by Albert90 1 day ago

I really hate how you're supposed to be there to save money and my grocery bill is bigger than ever because I have to buy a tub of something instead of a reasonable amount It's better if you are feeding a family, it's not really ideal if you are shopping only for yourself, unless you eat enough for four people.

by Minimum-Painter-64 1 day ago

I have to buy a tub of something instead of a reasonable amount It... it's a bulk store. That's like the whole point. Did you think it was just a regular grocery store?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I mean you don't have to buy in bulk what you won't use in bulk. Also the value of Costco is way more than their physical stores. They're the cheapest rental cars, I make back my membership fee by buying HVAC filters through them, etc.

by gerdastoltenber 1 day ago

Oh yes, this is an unpopular opinion.

by jayce79 1 day ago

LMAO, I get (in part) the same thing when I go, for like 4 years running…

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This is why I, too, hate Costco.

by Adventurous_Mud 1 day ago

Most stuff at Costco IS ultra processed junk, just as any US Supermarket. Anyway, the point was Costco encourages overconsumption. Not sure why you gelt the meed to reiterate the point that its cheap. You may not act entitled but just go and observe other people's spatial awareness. People turn into animals at costco

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm a Costco member but only because I got it for free. I'm not a convert yet. Here's why: So far I've gotten a few good prices but lousy quality. Great price for a very bland olive oil. The lysol is watered down. Croissants molded in 2 days (and not good anyway) - like most of the stuff Ive gotten there is defective lol. Most of the stuff I see people buying are ‘fake healthy' processed food items that I'm not interested in. Pantry stuff, bars, snack assortments - yea I'm aware of the produce department but the sizes are insane? I'm feeding 2 people and value diversity in my ingredients. I'll keep buying as needed and raiding clearances. I shop locally for produce and meat and take advantage of sales - it would be foolish of me to buy a lot of produce that I can't consume then have it go to waste. I'd imagine the cost savings start to add up if you have a large household. Are you feeding a lot of people?

by keeblerorval 1 day ago

I find the meat, seafood, and produce to be of better quality than most places. Buying things that you know you're going to use in bulk saves a ton - rice, tomatoes, olive oil (usually), kids snacks, etc.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I AGREE WITH YOU

by Aggressive_Load4814 1 day ago

I also hate them

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Is the mattress and tv quality part true? I'm planning on a year membership to literally buy only those two things.

by Masonhintz 1 day ago

no. sometimes costco carries a different product entirely as a "costco exclusive" which confuses people, but if two identical products then they are actually the same plus costco also has a pretty great warranty

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Anecdotally, I was going to buy an LG OLED tv at Costco a few years back until I discovered the sku sold there was missing the hardware for wireless surround speakers (WiSA). Wouldn't matter to most people, but it was definitely a cheaper sku made specifically for Costco. It wouldn't surprise me to find they did the same for other products.

by dasia63 1 day ago

You really have to go in looking for specific items. The things I buy are always there and are a better deal than buying at other places. Also, for me at least, I break even on my membership fee purely on the gas. Near me the price is cheap enough that if I never set foot in the store itself I'd still come out ahead from the gas. If you go there to just shop and buy stuff randomly without doing the math, etc. you will likely waste money.

by CompoteTraining6875 1 day ago

I park in the back. Try driving past the loading docks and walking around the building. Less traffic to and from the exit and you skip the entire front parking area

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I love Costco, great price and product. I agree with the pizza but you are wrong about the hotdog.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

TVs with cheaper electronics? This is just made up If you rent cars, buy medicine, pump gas, and plenty of other things you can make the membership up pretty quick.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Truly unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It is obvious that this person never has to buy diapers. The savings on kids stuff makes it worth it alone. I easily cover my executive member fee every year.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

depending on how much you drive, the gas savings alone can pay for itself.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Same, I hate how crowded it always is, even on off hours when I'm specifically trying to avoid crowds. The money part is nonsense though. I got a membership just for pet stuff (dog & cat kibble, dental chews, litter etc) and in 2 trips the savings pay off my membership. Anything else I get there is just gravy, with the caveat that I unfortunately have to actually go into a Costco.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Costco gas is usually 12-15 cent cheaper in my area, so just the gas saving pays for my membership.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Use the Costco Citi Bank card on all the purchases. Pay off card every month. Buy gas there, tires and $60 membership. Two person household getting around $300 back.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I just find the uncrusatable part funny. They are BIGGER at Costco than the ones at other stores.

by crawfordmertz 1 day ago

I like Costco, but the way they act like it's some sacred temple scares me.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Break even? The membership is like $65. 🤣

by vickie79 1 day ago

You're "I hate Costco" is an opinion and it's unpopular. Good work on that line. Everything else you said is just plain wrong. Could be willful ignorance. Could be blind hate. Could be just plain stupidity. Could be clickbait. Who knows?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Hard to park? The Costco I go to has a huge parking lot. Yet you do see lazy idiots driving and driving to find a close spot.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Reads as if it was written by a Sam's Club general manager

by Ross56 1 day ago

I come out ahead on the gas alone. Costco by my office, always fuel up there.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I feel like I break even just on toilet paper.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

OMG same. That's toilet paper is the main reason we go. And the gas.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm with you in hating they never have the same things! ME: "I really liked those cookies we got last time." COSTCO: "Nope. Never again." Sam's Club is better.

by BeautifulDealer 1 day ago

Also not a fan. Sam or BJs are better.

by Icy_Act 1 day ago

You may not like costco, but they are definitely not a better option.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Correct.. Costo is not a better option.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Sams and Costco are pretty damn close in the products they offer. I would probably give Costco the edge though. However, Costco's crap checkout process, no scan and go, and no curbside pickup are really pathetic for a large company in 2025. Sams is the better and more efficient shopping experience.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

In what world are those better than Costco? I go to BJs because it's closer but it absolutely isn't better than Costco. I'd absolutely switch if there was one closer than 45 mins away

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I get the impression you won't like shopping ANYWHERE…… Let me be of some assistance here……see a physician……get a prescription…..and go to Costco's pharmacy…..Consumer's Report had listed Costco's pharmacy as the lowest priced provider of some of the most prescribed anti- depressants ……..and then……just park anywhere…..the walk into the store can be relaxing………..just say'in

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Not a single thing you've said is correct. The parking spots are giant. Easiest lot to park in my entire city. The $3000 thing is so far from correct that it hurts my brain (I have the black membership, it's like $120). Yikes.

by Consistent_Title 1 day ago

All the Costcos in my area have the most chaotic parking lots this side of Trader Joe's, so I don't think that is necessarily incorrect.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

"It's too hard to park there!" LMAO

by Hoytbruen 1 day ago

Someone has never been to a Trader Joes 🤣

by Anonymous 1 day ago

So I've only ever been to Sam's Club. Which is better Costco or Sam's Club? I want to get a membership again for this winter for one of them? And I have a big enough family to make it work.

by bergnaumstacy 1 day ago

Banker hours, too crowded, Winco has better prices.

by gennaro30 1 day ago

You think Costco is selling different products than literally every other grocery chain in America? Lmaooo

by Marlene74 1 day ago

You forgot the cheap gas…

by Overall-Pain-9435 1 day ago

Gas savings alone are worth it for me

by Dooleyveronica 1 day ago

"nobody goes there. It's too crowded." - Yogi Berra

by rempelignacio 1 day ago

I pay for the executive membership and make up the cost in gas savings on filling two trucks and an SUV over the year, then I get cash back on everything I buy in store. All my electronics come from Costco (TVs have all the features I want, and a Surface Pro is the same no matter where it comes from) because they have a great warranty. If you go the right days/times parking isn't an issue at all.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I totally agree

by Anonymous 1 day ago

For me the money didn't make sense since I don't have much storage and don't eat enough for the groceries to seem reasonable in light of how much traffic I also have to navigate for the gas and parking at the times I can shop. I can see even 2 person households with more flexibility or families really benefiting though. Not useful for me though!

by Trick_Brief_5130 1 day ago

I'm with you OP. The parking is awful. The crowds and the huge lines stress me out so much.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Since I switched the executive membership, the money they give me back every year has more than covered it. I'm pretty sure the gas is what's getting me there. I've not had to pay for the membership in years.

by Agitated_Comfort 1 day ago

If you're a frugal shopper you can save the $60 fee in one or two trips. The bulk portion alone cuts the number of trips to the store I take in half.

by rahulbernhard 1 day ago

It's worth it just for the gas

by ChemistLonely 1 day ago

I shop there WAY more since they started delivering. I hate going in Costco.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I did the math when I joined last year and it saves me like ~$500/year compared to staples alone that I'd otherwise buy on Amazon or my local grocery store.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm sorry but if you buy a roll of Bounty paper towels and a roll of Toilet paper, the membership effectively pays for itself. 🤷

by hadley39 1 day ago

Too hard to park is an awful reason not to shop somewhere. I hate Costco for completely different reasons than you which is interesting

by Hour-Masterpiece 1 day ago

This is not an unpopular opinion. It's just wrong. Show us on the doll where Costco hurt you.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The only thing I don't like about Costco is that going there feels more stressful and gives me major anxiety. I don't know what it is. Going to a regular grocery store. Totally fine. But after I leave Costco I feel like a vacant shell of a human from the experience.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Bruh the protein powder I buy is 62 there and the cheapest option elsewhere is 90 bucks. Like I make my money back in two bags of that and a tank of gas lol.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I agree with you. I am not a Costco fan. It's been a mess anytime I've tried to go. To me, Sam's Club is a better experience

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Honestly I find the exact opposite, anything I've ever bought from Costco they stand by. Meanwhile I buy stuff from other places, it's complete crap and I'm out of luck.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I feel the same way about Aldi. Everyone thinks Aldi is do cheap and great but honestly if you go to most any other grocery store and just buy private label products it'll come out to be about the same

by Abject_Refuse_1694 1 day ago

I could be wrong, but I just don't feel like I save money going there. All the food I get there is cheaper at my local grocery store Woodmans. It does have some exclusive items that make it worth the membership. I really just find myself using it for mostly Pokémon and non3of that is in store.

by Equivalent-Bend-7306 1 day ago

Costco is great for some stuff, but I did not think it was really worth it for me as I would only try to go once every month or two for stuff like paper towels, paper plates, toilet paper, kleenex. If you have a family, business, or are regularly entertaining large groups of people it probably makes more sense to have it. Just my partner and I, and he does not eat anything meat wise except chicken / turkey, and even then it's in small doses so buying any of the steak, burgers or fish was kind of moot. We do not need vats of any condiments or anything. I did like their clothes section occasionally, had some nice stuff reasonably priced for work replacements. Never waited in line for the $.20/off or whatever the gas was, as the 8 lines were always wrapped around into the parking lot every time I was there. Doing the math of people being the most efficient ever at pumping gas it would have probably been 3 minutes on average per car, maybe closer to 5 minutes per truck. When each lane has at least 5 people ahead of me, that's a minimum of 15 minutes, or worse case half hour to fill up.

by EntertainerFrosty499 1 day ago

I only go for a slice of pizza and never on the weekends.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Where do you shop at instead? Which hot dog, pizza, uncrustables, mattress, electronics are you buying at a better value elsewhere

by Lomarath 1 day ago

It's great for the people who buy processed trash, which is the most expensive stuff in the store nornally.

by Feilezekiel 1 day ago

I don't like Costco either. No interest in joining.

by Popular_Tutor 1 day ago

I get the same items every week

by Orpha48 1 day ago

yeah only if u have a family of ten teens its good or a restaurant

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm with you OP. Costco food quality is notably disappointing, often falling short of expectations for freshness and taste. The environmental consequences of a single store's operations are staggering and difficult to quantify. The overwhelming amount of packaging and food waste generated is truly alarming, highlighting a pervasive issue within our consumption habits. Costco embodies many of the troubling aspects of our economic system, which is fundamentally driven by the relentless pursuit of unlimited growth, often at the expense of sustainability and responsibility.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

My executive membership has paid for itself 12 times over with my savings in diapers/pullups between two kids.

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

I wish more retail chains required a membership fee. I haven't set foot in a Walmart or Target unless I just have to since getting my costco membership. The shopping experience is just so much better.

by Strong_Knowledge 23 hours ago

The delivery service they offer is amazing. No other grocery store around me can seem to get deliveries right like Costco. Not only is it same day, but I love how they pack the groceries up into nice boxes they recycle.

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

Sam's Club is better because they have delivery and will accept Walmart gift cards.

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

Only real issue with Costco is all the lost people that seem like they have no idea where they are, what they want to buy, or where anything is, despite it always being the same.

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

As a European I don't get it why you would want to shop at a place that only allows people with membership. The only thing that comes close in my country is whole sale but those are only for companies with a valid registration.

by Shaunrodriguez 22 hours ago

You sound like a perfect customer for Sam's club. Have fun!!

by Acceptable_Simple 22 hours ago

I can't stand the whole experience. PITA to park, herded in like cattle, less selection than my supermarket options, larger quantities than needed on some things, and a miserable checkout experience. Can I save money at Costco? If I shop smartly at the supermarket, focusing on sale items and buying staples at Market Basket, I'm better off at the market.

by FishTraditional 22 hours ago

As long as they carry the big jar of peanut butter pretzel bites I'll deal with it.

by zakarywilkinson 21 hours ago

You should look up Costco's 1% rule with their name brand products. Then come talk to me about their quality. Yeah I spend like 3-4 hundred dollars each time I shop but that's because I bulk buy things for the next few months examples toilet paper, toothpaste, trash bags. It just makes sense to buy in bulk for a little discount overall. Also I like their pizza

by Mysterious-Video730 21 hours ago

The only thing I agree on is that the pizza in the food court is horrible. But other than that I love Costco. I do all the shopping there from food to my clothes. But not everyone needs to shop there.

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

I actually agree with you. I hate the concept of it, but economically it makes sense go. I get suckered in on cheap pizza and hot dogs like anyone else, and sometimes think I maybe shouldn't have done that, but I will go again and continue to.

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

It's too hard to park there Try a different one then. I never had any problems. and they never have the same things twice They frequently discontinue items because they only sell things they can get a deal on at that time. TVs with cheaper electronics. ? They sell the exact same TVs you buy in any other store. My only complaint is that they frequently move stuff around and don't label their aisles (Sam's Club does though)

by Minimum-Painter-64 21 hours ago
