+59 Marshall Products are overpriced for what they are. amirite?

Somehow I don't think this is about guitar amps.

OP is likely referring to cheap consumer audio products wearing the Marshall logo through some licensing deal.

My guess is that it's like how Porsche started making SUVs to stay solvent. Less and less people are taking up guitar these days.

Not really unpopular. They also aren't really "Marshall" products either. Marshall makes instrument amplifiers and speaker cabinets for musicians. They also are a well known name in that space. So when Marshall was gobbled up by private equity, they started licensing out their name for bluetooth speakers. A Marshall bluetooth speaker isn't from Marshall, but it has the name that all the musicians use on it.

Probably the most famous name in guitar amplification. They started getting into the speaker and headphone market ~10 years ago. Still make great amps. Their other products leave much to be desired.

Oh, that explains it. Because at first I was like "this guy isn't talking about guitar amps."

My uncle has one of the Marshall Bluetooth speakers. It looks awesome and it sounds perfectly fine for what it is. Then he told me what he paid for it.

Yeah they're fine from my experience but there are much better options at the price point.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. I was wondering what TJMaxx but actually discounted had done to them.

... but these go to 11.

I guess you'd buy that stuff because you're not particularly discerning and the styling speaks to you. A friend has one of those radio/speaker things and I think aesthetically it's quite a nice thing. Looks a lot nicer in his kitchen than other options I've seen.
