It's only an embarrassing trope in Hollywood movies where someone is "stood up" and the candle on their table slowly burns down. Millions of people eat alone every day in public for a ton of reasons and no one cares.

It's not embarrassing. No one thinks about it but you. If the restaurant has bar seating you can sit there instead of a table if you want.

It's not. I've worked in hospitality my whole life. I've had plenty of solo diners come through over the years. Some on business trips, some on holidays, some on a staycation, some just wanting to go out. I love going out to eat by myself. I've actually tried to rein it in because of spending. You've formed an opinion out of nothing. It's all you and your insecurities.
