100% agree. Extra points for red onions. It adds some freshness and a great flavour and texture to a burger. Alas we are in the minority.

Red onions are elite on burgers, people just don't appreciate the crunch enough.

Onion crunch is far superior to pickle crunch. I like to get pickles on my burger then take them off so the you taste the pickle juice without the lackluster inferior crunch.

Agree but with a caveat. Almost all raw onions at restaurants are prepped too far ahead. IMO they have to be sliced and served within 10 minutes. Otherwise, you know that taste I'm talking about. Also pickled onions are a win as long as they still got that crunch.

Pickled onions and cauliflower are so good when they're nice and crunchy

I like my burgers with raw red onions, caramelized onions, and onion rings

It depends what else is on the burger, onions should compliment the taste. Fresh lettuce and tomato means raw onion. But a smashed burger and (real) cheese should have caramelized onion.

I agree. Fried onions are an every now and then type of thing. Raw onions go on a classic burger.
