Tennis highlights look kinda normal when you have never played tennis. An insane down-the-line backhand winner just looks like all the other shots without some knowledge of the game. You need some appreciation of the technique and tactics to recognize what is difficult to execute. That said, playing it is incredibly fun and you also get way more social time than with most other sports.

I disagree. I'm not athletic at all, or a sports fan, but I think tennis is very engaging to watch. It's easy to follow the action because there are only 2 or 4 people, and it has a good balance between pure athleticism/speed/power and technique. It's one of the best sports to watch on tv, besides fighting.

Also the city I live in has tons of parks where you can go play tennis for free. I have a racquet that I bought for $2 at a yard sale. It doesn't get more accessible than that.

I mean when there's literally millions of people who follow the sport of course you're going to get a percentage that act out. To say ‘nothing happens' is also a ridiculous statement. Just because your short attention span isn't satisfied every 0.00005 seconds doesn't mean there's not a lot happening. It's the most popular sport in the world for a reason.

I follow tennis and I see a lot of proper tennis highlights. Tennis is a sport which has nuances and people who enjoy the sport will enjoy the match more than the useless drama. I know nothing about American football except that Taylor Swift is dating a football player but doesn't mean that's all football is about.

It's a doing sport not a viewing one. I do find tennis boring and I'm a fan. If your not playing your self. Then you're not breaking down the pros movements and trying to implementing them in your own game. That's where the beauty lies. When I didn't play IRL I had no vested interest and didn't follow the tour at all.

They should ditch the second serve to speed it along a bit. Men's game seems to just about slamming down a big power serve. Certainly a talent but entertainment? Nah.

That is kind of a good question about why it may be under-represented in highlights, but I definitely find the action of tennis to be exciting. I don't normally watch it, but I caught some tennis at a restaurant the other day and it was fun to watch them run around and try to beat each other at the game. As much as any other game. I'm blaming this on your brain being rotted by tiktok.

Most sports can be dull, with boring periods and occasional action. A bit like a very toned down version of war, which I suppose sport imitates but without casualties.
