+49 fizzy beverages are terribly unpleasant to drink, amirite?

by Anonymous 2 days ago

There's a segment of people (like me) who can't burp and avoid fizzy drinks like the plague. Sounds like you can burp and just don't like it. I'm so jealous when I hear someone let out a giant burp after drinking some soda.

I've never heard of this. Why can't you burp?

What Is RCPD (or No-Burp Syndrome)?

I can't burp either!! I love fizzy drinks though, guess that's probably why I fart more than average lol.

by greenhaylee 2 days ago

right! I have to be careful what I eat or the croaking noises become insane.

by isac06 2 days ago

Sounds like actual torture not being able to burp wtf

Here I am with GERD so I'm extra burpy lol too big of a swig of water and I'm burping

You can't burp? Sounds like one of Prince Andrew's excuses!

I bloody love it and it's why these kind of drinks are my favourite and why I drink sparkling water, pepsi max, etc all the time. I love the way fizz feels. Just adds some much needed character and makes me feel genuinely good

I might be addicted too

anything with bubbles and carbonation makes one feel so bloated and physically uncomfortable it causes gas and acid reflux That doesn't happen to most people when they drink them

Finally, an actual unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 1 day ago

anything with bubbles and carbonation makes one feel so bloated and physically uncomfortable it causes gas and acid reflux in the body and it makes you burp through your nose and it leaves a weird tingling sensation on your tongue. It doesn't do that to everyone...

by stuartsenger 1 day ago

lol right so many of these are just OPs who seem to have no idea that not everyone's lives are identical to theirs

As someone who loves heavily carbonated things that almost sting as they go down, I get how that could not be appealing.

by Massive-Guide 1 day ago

your experiences are not universal

lol fair

Strongly agree

The burn of the fizz going down my throat is literally one of the main reasons I'll have a Coke from time to time. It almost feels orgasmic.

I love the carbonation. My husband isn't big on it that he lets sodas get flat to mix with his drinks. My daughter isn't big on soda(which is good!) And calls soda spicy lol.

Agreed

I feel so seen rn.

Most of the problems you listed with fizzy drinks could be easilly avoided if you just owed down your drinking speed, the only time I feel bloated/ gassy/ get acid reflux from drinking something fizzy is if I chug it, if im taking my time with a drink then everything has time to settle down.

A big burp after drinking a fizzy drink… euphoric. My friend can't burp and this sounds like her take

by Anonymous 1 day ago

IDK I feel great after 17 beers and pass out just fine.

by Reasonable_Nerve_818 1 day ago

It takes a while for your body to get used to it all

by terrancewyman 1 day ago

I think you are very sensitive to carbonation and aren't getting the same experience as the average user. None of the things you dislike are things I associate with soda. In fact, when I'm very nauseous Dr. Pepper is pretty much the only thing I can drink.

by bobby20 1 day ago

I'm with you there, OP. I absolutely can't stand the fizziness.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I agree. There is a reason why Pepsi can be used at crime scenes to help clean things up. That crap burns going down.
