+48 People only dislike frozen pizzas because they don't know how to cook them properly. amirite?

by golda83 2 days ago

A DiGiorno pizza at the supermarket is $10, a large pizza at Domino's is also $10 It costs exactly the same but I don't have to cook the one from Domino's.

by archibald39 2 days ago

Or clean up after making it. Just eating it.

those poor bastards working there, 5$ pizza brings out the worst kind of customers

by Such_Fondant_1446 2 days ago

I regularly see nice frozen pizzas for $4

by Cristinaconroy 2 days ago

I used to eat Celeste pizza microwave, they were my favorite cheap frozen pizza but I need a few of them for 1 meal.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Oy. Everytime I've eaten Dominos, it felt like cement was sitting in my digestive tract. I opted for grocery store frozen pizza or mom'n pop fresh pizza

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Kroger has $5 frozen pizzas every Monday. My bf and I buy 2 every week and we share one pizza a night. $2.50pp for pizza night is a great deal.

by Outrageous_Raise_913 1 day ago

Large from dominos is $15. Figure in tip and your looking at $17 or $18. A digiorno is like $6 from my grocery store. Jacks are even cheaper.

by golda83 1 day ago

DiGiorno is legitimately better than Domino's. I think they may actually put sand in it.

by deborah95 1 day ago

You dont tip the delivery guy?

by Much_Candidate_6817 1 day ago

I go in store and buy it I never deliver

by archibald39 1 day ago

Honestly, no I don't. But that's because I always pick my own food up and would feel silly to give myself money

by Many-Emphasis 1 day ago

I'm gonna tip myself 420.69, hell yeah... Now I gotta pay taxes on it.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Tip yourself in cash next time, the government doesn't need to know

by Many-Emphasis 1 day ago

Aint nobody tipping in big 2025🥀

by Antonietta76 1 day ago

Why would I tip a delivery guy when I walk to the store? That said I live in a state where minimum wage is $10+ and my city is $15+ and my state never allowed tip wages to begin with so there's no real reason to tip especially when my local Dominos provides cars and bikes for deliveries and pays the drivers $20-25 hr starting (I make $24).

by Vincenzoarmstro 1 day ago

Don't know what planet you're living on where a large pizza from dominos is 10$. And what would that even be, a cheese pizza?

by No-Woodpecker-1537 1 day ago

£21.99 for a basic cheese and tomato from dominos where I am

by BerryNatural 1 day ago

Try just...making it yourself. It's way better and much cheaper. It's suuper easy too if you buy dough balls or even pre made crust. Although obviously a proper nyc style 48 hour ferment on crust is way better.

by No_Run6210 1 day ago

I feel like that defeats the point of a frozen pizza. I'm not making a frozen pizza because I want pizza. I make them because I want a low effort meal without going anywhere or paying for delivery.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

If you get a premade crust, jarred sauce, and shredded cheese* you just pour on sauce, sprinkle cheese, and throw some pepperoni on there. Then it's the same time or even shorter (not frozen) in the oven. I'd try it at least once. That minute or so of effort makes a huge difference. make sure it's not coated im cellulose or corn starch. They sell cheese specifically marked as no coating.

by No_Run6210 1 day ago

With the portions you get in the supplies I listed (I looked the items up individually) you'd MAYBE get one decent sized medium pizza and have a little bit of sauce left over. Not even kinda worth it or comparable to the convenience of a frozen pizza when cooked properly.

by TopLog1388 1 day ago

The pepperoni and cheese stats good in the fridge quite a while. If you make 2 pizzaa in 2 weeks you're good.

by No_Run6210 1 day ago

Those are the costs for like...a whole package of pepperoni, cheese, and sauce respectively. That's at least 2 maybe 3 pizzas worth.

by No_Run6210 1 day ago

Unfortunately it's not given the sizes of the packages. I looked them up individually. It would make maybe one decent medium pizza and not much else. MAYBE an individual size with the leftovers.

by TopLog1388 1 day ago

I might live in a more lcol area. Kroger brand mozz 16oz for $3. That's like 4 cups one medium takes 1.5-2 cups. Pepperoni also $3 for 6oz it's 48 slices that gives you 16 per pizza for 3 pizzas...and that's kinda a lot. $2 for kroger pizza sauce 14oz. That's 2 pizzas for most people..or 4 for me.

Not to continue the assault of "I could do it for less", but I was totally broke in school and I loved feeding my friends. So really I'm looking at flour, salt, water. And tomato sauce with herbs. Honestly I could feed a party at my house cheaper than little Cesar's and would have people that had to work shifts those night swing by just for a good meal. I still have friends reminisce over <my name>'s pizza. Found out later that some of them kinda relied on it since they had it tough too, but didn't know how to cook at all.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

We make them with homemade dough using Greek yogurt. It's really fast and tastes good.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Ohh I've heard of that. I imagine it gets kind of a naan type consistency?

by No_Run6210 1 day ago

Yeah, all of the benefits OP raves about applies better to just homemaking a pizza.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The fact that there are so many options at the grocery store prove that people do like frozen pizzas, but I don't think I would compare them to fast food pizzas, they feel like they are in completely different categories, sometimes I want the flavor of a frozen pizza over the flavor of a chain.

by wade37 1 day ago

Agreed. And if you dress it up yourself a bit it's really pretty damn good. I always add a little extra cheese, sometimes some olives, garlic powder, and then when it's out a drizzle of hot chili olive oil on it. Now I want pizza.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The main unavoidable problem with frozen pizza for me is you can always taste the preservatives in them. Frozen pizza sauce always tastes the same, and not in a good way.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah, this is my problem as well. The crust is always my issue, especially if there's any body to it. It's like how packaged store bought bread can't be compared to fresh baked bread. Sauce is supposed to be bright and acidic. Every frozen pizza sauce tastes oily and dull.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I think most people don't like them because the ingredients are absolute garbage. Very, very low quality ingredients infused with chemicals to keep them from spoiling for years. Sure, people might be cooking their garbage wrong, but even amazingly prepared garbage is still garbage compared to a real pizza

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Everyone I know including me does. Maybe cuz we grew up eating that crap cuz our parents. Also stouffers lasagna...ugh

by No_Run6210 1 day ago

I think you're right that people don't hate them. But from everyone I've talked to, no one really seems to actually like them. Kind of just like an emergency meal when they dont feel like cooking anything else. Maybe my friends are just snobs but I feel like I've gotten a lot of slack for liking frozen pizzas as much as I do.

by golda83 1 day ago

Because that's mostly what they are? They're convenience food that is a pale imitation of fresh pizza. They're fine, and the scratch an itch, but they're nowhere near as good as even mediocre fresh pizza. I don't dislike them, but it really takes very little effort to make your own pizza, especially if you just buy a dough ball.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I used to be like this until i got into thin crust pizzas. My favorite has to be a thin crust red baron any variety.

by leonrowe 1 day ago

Well, to be fair, they are also really crappy. I'll agree that cooking them correctly makes them slightly less odious.

by myriamthiel 1 day ago

The people who don't like frozen pizzas probably don't like Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, or Domino's, none of it is high quality. It's all the same mass produced stuff. Good pizza comes from local pizza places, not the fast food chain pizza places

by No-Airline-7820 1 day ago

You names fast food pizza vs. frozen. What about real pizza from an independent pizzeria in NY, NJ or Chicago?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Nah Ill take that any time. But I also dont live in any of those places. There is a Giordanos about an hour away. Its delicious but its an hour drive, an hour wait to get a pizza, and costs a ton.

by golda83 1 day ago

Oh man this is a night worth planning ahead with that exact purpose. Thank you YouTube for allowing something like this relive all over again :D
